Best Places for Lunch North of Boston

Thank you guys so much!! I'm looking so forward to lunch tomorrow! Honestly thank you!!

Best Places for Lunch North of Boston

Sorry for being so vague. I live in Wakefield so I am open to going any where really on the North Shore for the most part. As far as cuisine and price point again I am open. Where I would typically eat for dinner if we were going out it would be like Tryst in Beverly, 9 Elm Danvers, Sichuan Garden 2 or on the other end the only chains I eat at would be Border Cafe (just because my boyfriend LOVES it. :) ) and Bertucci's on a RANDOM occasion. I am a self proclaimed foodie and love really interesting salads, wraps, super thin crust funky pizzas and things like that for lunch.

I am open to pretty much everything though. Thanks again for your help.

Best Pace In Boston For Margaritas?

I think Masa has a pretty decent Rita. They also have a very good sipping tequila list if you are into that. Just skip the Sangria...it's watered down and kind of gross.

Have you gone to the Newbridge Cafe in Chelsea/Revere line?? The steak tips are really good and pretty good people watching too. :)

This Saturday night in Providence, RI

Hi Everyone,

I am going out to dinner at Gracie's tomorrow night for dinner and was hoping to find a fun, not too crowded bar to go to afterwards. Something kind of loungy with either live music or just good music playing (Sinatra or something along those lines). Anyone have any ideas? We are not from Providence and just coming down for the night so any suggestions would be great!

Thanks again in advance.

I need help finding a waterfront bar on the North Shore!!

I moved to Wakefield from the North End about nine months ago. Now that the snow has melted and the rain has stopped I am dying to sit on an outdoor patio drinking sangria or something else (at this point it doesn't really matter, it's been a long week). Any suggestions???

I don't feel like driving back into the city but I am starting to think it could be my only option?!?!?

PLEASE HELP THIS GAL IN NEED OF A WATERFRONT COCKTAIL!!

Thanks Everyone

Carmen in the North End by far

Soma in Beverly

We just got back from dinner at Soma and it was horrible. I have been in the industry on and off for about 13 years now and a foodie. But I have to say this was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. The place was a ghost town inside yet no one was at the door to greet us. We stood there for a little bit. Finally the bartender came around the bar and was about to seat us but a waitress came around.
I thought the menu was going to be a fusion of Caribbean and american but it seemed to be more about Swiss chard being in every dish and very limited and some what over priced for the area. I mean I could be wrong, it was my first time in Beverly but 23-30 an entree seems a little pricey for the area. If we were in downtown Boston or Cambridge, no problem, for sure but some random place on the North Shore...
I ordered the winter veg soup (it was a beet based soup which was not labeled in the menu and was luke warm with spars veggies) and than I tried the Pork dish. My better half had the fish special with lobster truffled ravs but said that the celery root puree over powered the whole dish and couldn't taste anything else.
I really never bash places like this but it wasn't worth the 75 dollar check and service was bad as well. So please don't go!! It's not worth it at all!

Winter 2008/2009 Openings and Closings

To your list of closings you have to include, The B-Side in Cambridge (loved that place!!!!)

Also I use to work for the guys that now own Max and Dylan's, They own Scoally Sq. Tavern on the Water and the Max and Dylan's in Downtown Crossing the food all tastes the same at any of these locations, it's not that great.

Has anyone had a bad experience at Artu?

I lived in the North End for a few years and use to get take out from them every once and awhile. Honestly, not my favorite place in the world. I think there are so many great places in the neighborhood like, The Daily Catch, Maurizito's, The North Street Grill and Carmen, that once you have a bad meal at a place like Artu you can just put it on your own personal black list. Their sauce is no good and to be honest I don't think I have ever had anything good there but since I lived right upstairs when I had forgotten how bad it was I would try it again...memory like a goldfish!

First date in the North End

I lived in the North End on Hanover St for about two years and love food! ha ha...here's where I would go...
Either Maurizo's on Hanover, I have never had a bad meal there. It is ALWAYS good and kind of casual but still warm and cozy.
Carmen in North Square, you need to make reservation, might be a second date kind of place if you really like her.
Or if you want something that is comfort food but really good, North Street Grill. It's not Italian but it's soooo good. Food takes forever but it's so worth it.

Just moved from the North End to Wakefield and need help...

Guys thank you so much!!! I can't wait to try all these places!! I have been to Sushi Island for lunch it was really good. I will eat the burbs and report back! Thanks again!

Just moved from the North End to Wakefield and need help...

Hi, we just moved from the North End to Wakefield where we bought a place and are in dire need of some great places to eat! We love funky places like Deep Ellum, Silvertone, North Street Grill or Neptune Oyster just to name a few. I am trying to hate the burbs because we are city people but just can't afford to buy something there. We tried this place last night called, Ristorante Molise, it was horrible!
The salad came as I was ordering it. Than as I was taking the last bite this pasta dish came and it was just awful! So any suggestions would be great! HELP!!!!
