biz dinner, W50s/Sixth Av
thanks everyone - I'm researching every suggestion for availability!
biz dinner, W50s/Sixth Av
Have a group of 7 ppl and would love recs for a place that is 1) walking distance, 4-6 blocks and 2) quiet enough so you can actually have/hear conversation at your own table. Can do private room if there are restaurants that offer it. Would like to keep costs at/under $100/person but OK to go over. Not looking for over-the-top swank - prefer really great food and right atmosphere over trying to impress. We'll be leaving from the Sheraton Hotel/Towers at W53rd/Sixth Av. Thanks in advance for any ideas!
If you could only choose one restaurant in SF...
Zuni for lunch, Gary Danko for dinner. Besides the amazing food, the service at Danko always blows us away. Superb.
Got a favorite restaurant in the Union Square area:
Union Square is kind of tough but there are several good places that I've tried over the last few years... Canteen, Colibri, Scala's, Grand Cafe, Belden Place.
Need Cool Wine Bar Atmosphere Near Moscone
I was at Local a few months ago and it's great, good suggestion!
Best Cocktails in the Bay Area?
Agree w/pp re: NOPA. We also like COCO500 and Bacar for creative cocktails (though a bit pricey).
Chez Panisse--How's the food, really?
My husband and I celebrated a birthday a few years ago at Chez Panisse and have been wanting to go back ever since. I am quasi-veg too and since the menu is set each night, I opted for a vegetarian version of the menu which was delish. If you are really picky this place might not be good for you since the menu is pretty much decided in advance and there aren't a lot of options.
Pizza Margherita/Pizzaiolo--where else?
Have not had pizz margh specifically at these places but for great za we love: Delfina, A16, Pazzia and Pizzeria Picco. We also love Pizzaiolo and your post reminds me that we need to get over there again soon!
6th Wedding Anv. Dinner this Sunday, from LA, where should we eat in SF,
oops, two more: CAV wine bar and Zuni (right next to each other on Market St, short cab ride from Union Square).
6th Wedding Anv. Dinner this Sunday, from LA, where should we eat in SF,
Here are a few of our favorite places: Slow Club, TWO, A16, Town Hall (agree w/pp re: noise level), Luna Park, Blue Plate, NOPA/NoPa (note sure of spelling).
Have fun (hope it stops raining here by the time you arrive!)
