Restaurants near Falling Water, Mill Run, Laurel Highlands

Thanks. I looked at the accommodations but they looked in need of updating and therefore pricey for what they are. Perhaps the photos aren't flattering. We'll try one of their restaurants. Thanks!

Thanks again. "Holiday Inn, not remarkable" a marketing director's nightmare of a
Soundbite. But have stayed in them too - clean, comfortable and reliable. Thanks.

Thanks very much. I'd seen this and wasn't sure from their website. Looks like we might hire a cottage as we can't seem to find a good inn/hotel nearby. Did you have a good place to stay?
Thanks again,
Kate

Hi
My husband and I are making a trip to see Frank Lloyd Wright's houses in the area. Does anyone have any restaurant recommendations in the area? Usual sources aren't turning up much of anything.
thanks in advance,
Kate

Tomi-Kro Gone?

Just went last night hoping to have dinner. Lights off, locked and a sign on the door referring to reposession. Have seen on another board that it might be the TK team behind a new venture on NW corner of Gerrard and Carlaw.

My experience had been good, although like many diners, small plates were pricey and servers often too busy loving themselves to be hospitable and effective.

Anyone know anything?

Hi! My name is __ & I'll be your server tonight.

I find it a bit twee, and really, any customer should be able to signal to any server to resolve a missing item, not just wait for your designated one to appear. Last week a server did this to the two men at table next to us and one replied:
"Great, my name's Bob and I'll be your customer tonight." funny....

Double Lavender Honey Ice Cream

A great, simple recipe (no custard to make, just heat the cream and milk) that exudes a summer's day in Provence. I will definately make it again. Would love to find a way to reduce the fat and/or sweetness for a healthier version.

Where can I buy 0% fat Greek Yoghurt in Toronto?

Does anyone know? I think Total make a 0% but I haven't seen it. Ironically I live at Danforth/Logan in Greektown, so either I'm not trying hard enough or it's not available.

Please let me know if you know a retailer who stocks it.

Thanks
Kate

Kid Friendly Authentic Restaurants near West 55th between 6th and 7th

hi RGR and LeahBaila, thanks for your suggestions. We went to Trattoria Trecolori and had a good meal - thank you for the suggestion. La Bonne Soupe had a notice saying 'opening mid june' but was still closed (although active renovation happening). We had brunch at the Fig & Olive with friends which was a bit disappointing - so we'll do more research before our next visit. If you want to have good, informal restaurants nearby, which area of the city would you suggest staying?
Thanks
Kate

Kid Friendly Authentic Restaurants near West 55th between 6th and 7th

Hi

We're visiting NYC for 5 days (from Toronto) and staying at the Blakeley Hotel (with Abbocato in its building). Has anyone eaten there?

Also, we'll have our 16 month old boy with us and keen to find authentic restaurants within walking distance that have early seatings and preferably a highchair, but no chains please. Cuisine no issue, price not too much either, just nothing too formal where they'd object to a bit of good humoured babbling!

Also, would you describe this location as 'midtown'?

Thanks for any suggestions you have,
Kate

Afghan Chicken in Yoghurt (Lavand-e Murgh)

Can anyone help find a recipe for this dish? It's a rich, creamy sauce with chicken pieces, and has a yellow green colour - I think there must be lemon and then either fresh cilantro or coriander seed in the sauce. I ate it many times at The Afghan Kitchen in London, England and we now live in Toronto. I'd love to find a good recipe for it or a restaurant that serves this and other Afghan dishes. Thanks. Kate
