Best non-Hawker asian restaurants close to Raffles hotel

Thanks. I was there in 1986 just passing thru and have been to Bangkok a few times. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me-too many great places.

Singapore- Is Waku ghin worth it? (Tetsuya's)

I have always heard how great Tetsuya's was in Australia. Is this as good? Or is it like most Las Vegas restaurants not quite as good and chef not on premises. If it's similar to Nobu or Morimotos or Matsuhita then I wouldn't want to go because I can get stuff like that in USA. If it is one of a kind then I may have to try it. Or is it something not to be missed in Singapore? Thanks in advance.

Best non-Hawker asian restaurants close to Raffles hotel

Love all types of asian food. Love all types of restaurants from dives to fancy if they are GREAT. Will be hitting as many Hawker stands as possible but also have a few questions. Is there a great Thai restaurant comparable to Celadon in Bangkok? Or just something really good not as fancy? I figured so close to Thailand must be some killer spots. Also, is Wakughin by Tetsuya fantastic and worth it? Or is it like most of he restaurants in Las Vegas where the chef isn't there and the food is not as good as his flagship restaurant. I like Nobu in USA. Was disappoined with Tojos in Vancouver.
Any other not to be missed spots close to Raffles for something distinctively Singaporean and hard to find in USA or any other recommendations. Thanks in advance.

need recommendations for Thai Town in Hollywood

Coming from out of town looking for something outstanding in Thai Town. Probably a late lunch on a saturday and maybe a real late dinner then breakfast next morning. Would appreciate pros and cons of your favorites. Jitlada sounds interesting but I heard they take forever. Ruen Pair also sounds good. Sapps for breakfast? Any places you think are much better than these? Any really good ones that take credit cards? Thanks a lot for any replies.

best thai in Waikiki

Is there a really good thai restaurant near the Royal Hawaiian hotel? We love good Thai food. looking for something special-not just the average Thai place you get in most U.S. cities. From my research I haven't been able to find anything that seems to stand out as really good. Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

best sushi in honolulu

Thinking of trying Sasabune for serious sushi. Any others that compare or are better? Not looking for a hole in the wall but nice atmosphere with great food. Something special that stands out from the rest. Also interested in trying Morimoto's for something a little different from Sasabune type places. I'm guessing Morimoto's is more like Nobu which I enjoy also. Any replies are greatly appreciated.

Need rcommendation for Milan near Four Seasons hotel

I've figured out a good plan for Venice and Bellagio thanks to great help from this board. Need recommendation for our last night in Italy. We are staying in the Four Seasons hotel and would like something within walking distance or a very short taxi ride. Want the best combination of atmosphere and food. Can be high end or not. Looking for something special unlike anything we can get in USA. Thanks in advance if you can help me.

Need recommendations for Bellagio, Lake Como

I think I have a good plan for Venice-thanks to some great responses here. We are looking for the best 2 or 3 places in Bellagio for 2 dinners and 2 lunches that are not total tourist traps. We will probably mix it up a little and can go from simple to high end. Looking for the best combination of food and atmosphere. Also will travel to someplace nearby for something truly exceptional or one of a kind. Thanyou very much if you can help.

Need input on these restaurants for 2 days in Venice

Thanks for the fantastic reply. I will see what is open first and that may dictate which restaurants we go to. Also, what do you think of Alla Madonna?

Need input on these restaurants for 2 days in Venice

My wife and I will be in Venice for just 2 days in early August. Staying at Bauer hotel. We would like the best combination of atmosphere and quality of food.
We want to go to some places where you know you are in Venice, romantic, but not total tourist traps. Also don't necessarily want to be shoulder to shoulder with other diners at same table and have to make conversation.
I have ruled out Da Fiore due to numerous reviews saying it is simply not worth it and if I pay that kind of money I want something like the French Laundry. One of the best meals of my life was in Italy however at Don Alfonso.
Thought possibly having lunch at the hotel at DaPrisis for atmosphere and convenience unless the food is not up to par with other nearby atmospheric places.
Osteria Boccadoro sounds like it is worth a try-what is the atmosphere like there and are there better places for food-how does that compare to Alle Testiere, Il Rodotto?
Also Antiche Carampane sounds interesting-how does it compare with the above mentioned in food and atmosphere?
Thought about Al Covo which sounds good but from the reviews I've read it seems like there might be better places for what I am looking for.
Again, I want the best combination of food and atmosphere,. NOT great food in a dive. NOT magical views and atmosphere with horrible tourist trap food.
Basically 2 lunches and one dinner plus some time to get a quick feel for Venice. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Best thai near Oriental hotel Bangkok

Travelling with my wife and 2 daughters ages 10 and 12. I have been to Bangkok 3 times before but would like some other opinions/suggestions. Looking for best Thai restaurants(not street stalls) close to the Oriental Hotel. Would like best combination of authentic food and atmosphere. Not looking for great food with no atmosphere. Also any tourist traps to avoid. Will be eating one dinner at Oriental and one at Celadon. Need other recommendations of great places not quite as fancy for lunches and dinner. Thanks a lot.
