Any thoughts on the following signature cocktail to be served at my wedding:

1.5 oz vodka
3 oz grapefruit juice
1 oz cranberry juice

Chilled and served in a cosmo glass w/ stir stick w/ dendrobium orchid attahced

I'm looking for a second signature drink that would compliment this.... something sweet. Any suggestions?

White wine for wedding reception recommendations? [moved from Ontario board]

Hello fellow chowhounders....

I'm now putting the finishing touches on my wedding details. And the stumper is the white wine to serve with dinner. We're having a duo platter for the main dish of grilled beef tenderloin served with grilled halibut. The red we have decided on is the now infamous Fuzion (
shiraz/malbec blend). It's very cost effective.

But the white wine is harder to decide on. We're looking for something frugal in price but still tastes good. We're looking at purchasing approximately 80 bottles. So hence cost is a factor.

Any feedback would be great!

Surprised by Serra on Bloor St. (West of Spadina)

We LOVE Serra. It's one of our top three places to eat in Toronto. We always have great service, a great ambiance and the food is consistently outstanding.
I have recommended it numerous times to friends and coworkers.

Wedding Favors in Toronto

Hi it's me again,

I'm trying to come up with something unique (but everyone is!) for my wedding next year. So far I've come up with truffles in a box in a champagne flute as a favor. But alas I only know of two truffle places:

LeFeuvre's and Chocolate Messenger.

Do you have any other places which you recommend for truffles?

Do you have a great favor idea you would like to share?

Thanks for the input!

Caterers in Toronto???

I'm having my wedding next year and I wanted some or any feedback (service, food quality, pricing, would you book them or eat them again?) on the following caterers:

Daniel et Daniel
A La Carte
Beyond Catering

As well but not any less important, is there a caterer you've tried that you absolutely love or truly hate? Feedback is needed as picking and/or evaluating the caterers is really hard.

Plus any tips on evaluating the caterers or tips in dealing with them would be of great help...

Happy CHOWing!
