Casual, Veggie-Friendly Restaurant in Lakeview
I haven't been to Lakeview in quite awhile and was hoping for some suggestions for casual, vegetarian-friendly restaurants in Lakeview. I'm not looking for strictly vegetarian restaurants, just something that has some good vegetarian options. I am a ukranian village resident who rarely makes it east of ashland anymore, but started dating a vegetarian in lakeview who is notoriously short on restaurant recommendations in her hood. Thanks!
Chicago Butcher
Does anybody know if a good Chicago butcher? I have been to the Paulina meat market, which is great, but a bit of a haul from downtown. Just wondering if there are any other options in the downtown or surrounding neighborhoods.
Loop Lunch Spots
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for unique lunch spots in the Loop, i.e. not Potbelly's, Corner Bakery, Chipolte or other chains. For example, I recently discovered Hannah's Bretzel on Wells and Washington and love it. Also, any recommendations for good, quick Thai or Chinese in the Loop area for lunch? Thanks!
Headed to Montreal for Relatively Reserved Bachelor Party - Bar/Restaurant Recommendations
We are headed to Montreal for a relatively mature bachelor party, i.e. good food and drinks will probably take precedence over the gentlemen's clubs (although a visit is probably inevitable). I'd appreciate some restaurant recommendations for a group of six to seven guys at about $20-$25 a plate, at least one steakhouse recommendation would be great.
Also, I would appreciate any recommendations of bars or lounges where we could grab an after-dinner cocktail, maybe enjoy a cigar and/or some jazz. Our group is in their early 30's. Thanks in advance.
Good eats around Oakley and Armitage
I would also suggest the following:
Le Bouchon - 1958 N. Damen. Great, little French bistro. Call ahead for a reservation, it's small and usually crowded.
Scylla - 1952 N. Damen. Tremendous, but pricey.
Coast - 2045 N. Damen. Pretty good sushi. Again, may want to call ahead.
Avenue M? Or other recs--River West & East
I went to Avenue M about two months ago. The steaks were very good, as was the lobster and oysters of the of the day. The service was very rough - they forgot one of our appetizers and one of our steak orders. However, the manager was very contrite and comp'd both items. I imagine that service has improved. Overall, the food was very good. As for atmosphere, the space is fantastic but depending on what night you are there you may think you got lost and ran into the Gibson's crowd.
