Holiday Beer - What to Bring To Boston, MA

Thanks all for the suggestions. I picked up a case of the Sly Fox 113. My bro is from Portland, OR so he gets Russian River. Also, Sly Fox comes in cans which saves space in the car. Happy Holidays.

Holiday Beer - What to Bring To Boston, MA

I live in SE Pennsylvania and need to bring some local flavor to the family gathering in Boston, MA. I want to bring something they can't get - I believe they can get Victory, Troegs, DogFishHead. I am thinking of SlyFox and maybe Stoudts. Anyone from Boston area on the board - what would you want from the Philly area? Thanks.

Thanksgiving Day Beer

What beer are you serving for Thanksgiving? I need to bring a case to a family gathering and need some recommendations. The traditional meal is served - turkey, potatoes, yams, etc. I live in southeast Pennsylvania, Victory prima Pils perhaps - thoughts? Thanks.

West Chester hidden lunch treasures?

I agree with Sara G on Market Street Grill, Three Little Pigs, and Carlino's. Also, a bit outside the borough is Don Gabriel's (611 West Strasburg Road) for mexican.

Outdoor Dining in West Chester or nearby?

Avalon has a nice outdoor patio. http://www.avalonrestaurant.net/about.htm. I went a year ago and enjoyed my meal - maybe someone can comment on the food who's visited more recently.

Limoncello has outdoor seats on the street. I've never been so can't comment on the food. http://www.limoncellowc.com/

Mas Cantina has the roof top deck. Drink service was slow when I was there, we didn't have food but have heard it's not good. You could have a drink on the roof, then head somewhere else for dinner.

Looking for places around Concordville-Brandywine area

I agree with RC51 - skip McKenzie's and go to High Street. Another option is Blue Pear Bistro, but not sure how extensive the beer menu is:

I think you have dinner covered, but if you need a breakfast idea in W.C. - Market Street Grille at 6 W Market St - great food and service.

Where to eat in West Chester?

BYOB is bring your own, depending on the place some have corkage fees. If a BYOB interests you I would call the restaurant to confirm their policy, it oftens changes depending if it's a weekend vs. a weekday. Pennsylvania only has state run stores, there are no liquor stores in the borough. Liquor store locations can be found http://www.pawineandspirits.com.

For dinner, I would go to High Street Caffe - http://www.highstreetcaffe.com. They do offer BYOB - $5 corkage fee, but also serve alcohol.

Another option for dinner, but not as good in my opinion, is a few doors down at Avalon. http://www.avalonrestaurant.net

Took a drive to Delaware and ended up with a 12 pack of Stoudt's Scarlet Lady and a 12 pack of Flying Fish ESB Ale. Both beers were a hit, but the Scarlet Lady went better with the meal.

Thanks for the recs, I'm gonna go with Stoudt's Scarlet Lady ESB since I'm familiar and like it.

I live in PA (have to purchase by the case) and only want to buy one - most people will drink wine, budget of ~ $35 including tax. I was thinking Victory Prima Pils - thoughts and other recommendations?

Cool space to throw a party?

Old Mill near Media, PA. They have a dedicated caterer, but you bring your own alcohol. I got married there, so let me know if you have specific questions.

Kooma is a Japanese place - I've never been, but have heard good things.

Spence Cafe http://www.spencecaferestaurant.com/, went about a year ago - had a good fish entree, don't remember what it was exactly.

My personal choice would be High Street Caffe - cajun/creole, my wife and my favorite special meal in town. http://www.highstreetcaffe.com/
