Ideas for Weds dinner downtown (new or deal like 1/2 bottle wines)

Monthly dinner group (previously been to Slurping Turtle, Tanta, Nico, Bavettes) -- looking for a place for next month either new or with a wine special. Appreciate the help!

First time at Table Fifty-Two -- What to Eat

The highlights were the mac and cheese side and the hummingbird cake. I was not that impressed with much else unfortunately.

MSP-Dinner for 65th birthday celebration

My dad is turning 65 this year on a Sat night and we are going to do a dinner celebration. There will probably be 12-20 people plus kids (under 10, but very well behaviored; however that would just mean an earlier time). Any restaurant suggestions? Looking for a comfortable setting with great food. Thinking food similar to Eatery 112 - preferably a little cheaper - and maybe something that is family style? I have no idea really though. Thanks in advance!

Best Sushi/Sashimi in Minneapolis/St. Paul?

I am going back home and want to take my niece for sushi for lunch on a friday (I'm from Chicago and eat a ton of sushi). I'm coming from Minnetonka so St.Paul is a bit far for me because there is a short window. Based on the posts, it looks like Nami is the best option that is open for lunch? Does that sound right? And would that place be appropriate for a 9 year old?

Madison WI, Recs Needed

I agree that Weary Traveler is great. Also, Cafe Continental, Johnny Delmonocos or Peppino's are excellent as well. Marigold's Kitchen has good breakfast too.

MSP - Dinner close to Minnetonka

I'm looking for a place relatively close by Minnetonka (downtown would be too far) that I can buy a belated b-day for my sister and husband. Any cuisine, moderately priced ($40ish/person) - just don't want usual suspects (Cristos, Famous Daves). Many thanks!!! Don't live there so don't know what is really good!

Gibson's or Morton's? Out of Towner looking for the Quintessential Chicago Steakhouse Experience

I like Morton's, but Gibson's is better.

Looking for good chicken shawarma...

I like Fattoush on Halsted and it's a good value.

Guys night out

I second Tango Sur - the food is great and have seen groups of guys with bottles of Jack and lots of beer.

De Cero

I'm going to De Cero with a large group of people. I don't know too much about it and was wondering if there is anything really good that we should not miss.

Fun dinner

Any suggestions of a place for dinner on a Sat night for a group of Chicago natives and out of towners, fun atmosphere, good drinks, and not too pricey (food around $25). I tried Carnivale, but they couldn't take a large reservation. It will be on the early side too - around 7ish. Many thanks!

Sorry, should mention I'm looking for something other than tapas or Greek.

Recommendations for a large group (14) , uniquely Chicago, inexpensive, Friday Night

I would second Cafe Iberico - great food and not expensive. They don't take reservations so just go there and be prepared to drink some sangria for a bit.

Tango Sur? Yay or ney?

I like Tango Sur especially for the price. I agree that it can be too loud though.

Madison, Wisconsin

My favorites around the capital are: Delmonico's(steak), Peppino's(Italian), Cafe Continental(brunch or dinner), Marigold's (breakfast/brunch). Also, the Weary Traveler on Williamson street is great. I love Ian's for pizza and Wasbi does have good sushi.

Restaurant w/ private dining area by Grand & Wabash

I need to find a restaurant (for a business function) that would hopefully have some sort of private dining area. No specific food in mind or price limit (but not someplace super expensive) I know of Brasserie Jo and Maggiano's, but can anyone suggest something else. Should be for around 25-30 people. Thanks!
