Early dinner @ Joe Beef w/toddler
Anyone ever try this? My wife and I are taking a mini vacation from Ottawa to Montreal next month and we definitely want to hit Joe Beef. Could we do it with our well behaved and well traveled almost two-year old if we get there right at opening? Would likely be a Thursday or Friday. Do they have booster seats? Thanks in advance (I did seach this topic with no definitive answer).

Joe Beef
2491 Rue Notre-Dame W, Montreal, QC H3J1N6, CA
Anything new/interesting in the Belmar/Avon/Bradley/Asbury Park area
Looking for something low-key but quality for a quite b-day dinner with my wife.
Palena, Corduroy or ???
Frankly, I preferred the old location for Corduroy; the new one strikes me as cold, and I always liked the hidden gem quality of a place like Corduroy in a Four Points hotel!
Capitol Hill
Weekend breakfast: the best is in Eastern Market itself, at Market Lunch. Saturdays only. Get there early for the blueberry pancakes and the "brick" breakfast sandwich.
Pizza: The best is now offered by 7H, right next to Montmartre, owned and operated by them as well. It makes Matchbox a disgrace.
Belga across from Matchbox is offers good Belgian.
Mangialardo's, at 1317 Penn Ave, SE has some of the best subs in the city, but they are only open until 2pm on WEEKdays. A true gem.
Everything else is middling, for the time being.
Good eats near Washington Navy Yard
Also, for solid French Bistro fare, Montmartre is on 7th, right near Eastern Market, and right next door is a brand spanking new pizza joint by the same owners called 7H; some of the best pies in town come out of its wood burning oven. Finally, across the street and up a ways on 7th is Tunnicliff's, again solid bar food.
Eats near L'Enfant Plaza Hotel
I'm afraid you're you-know-what out of luck. There is almost zero to eat at L'Enfant Plaza; meaning there is exactly one MacDonald's (assuming you're not contemplating that since you're asking this Chow crowd) and 2.5 "take-out" places likely to make you ill (not that I could recommend it, but there used to be a Au Bon Pain, that close a week or two ago). Your best bet may be the hotel, a thoroughly depressing proposition I'm afraid. This is an unfortunate place to attend a conference at.
is au bon pain a decent lunch spot?
Do yourself a favor and go to the ABP website and read the list of ingredients in any of their sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. There is enough junk and sodium in just about everything to give any chain a run for your money.
DC to NJ Shore Recommendations
Thanks. I tried the Pit Beef, but it was several years ago, so worth a stop for sure. Very original and tasty as I recall.
DC to NJ Shore Recommendations
Have done that a couple of times, and definitely open to any suggestions.
DC to NJ Shore Recommendations
I've made the DC to NJ Shore hundreds of times and by various routes (95 to Turnpike to 195; up Rt. 40 through Maryland, Turnpike to Rt. 70; Annapolis to Rt. 301, etc. etc.). I'd like feedback from the board on best roadfood options that I may be missing in between DC and the NJ shore. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all options as I make this trip at all hours and times of the year. Thanks in advance!
Fine Dining Solo
I would add Corduroy to the mix; the bar is upstairs and you can get the full menu.

24 hrs in Manchester
I'll be in Manchester for 24 hours on May 4th, which I understand is a UK holiday. Will pubs/restaurants be open? If so, I'm interested in any recs from the locals. I'm wanting to stick with pub/British/locally sourced food. I've heard good things about Thomas Chophouse, anything else not to miss? I'll need a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner. I'm staying in the city centre on Blackfriars Street. Many thanks - really looking forward to my visit.
Solo dining in Rome acceptable?
I'll have a couple of nights on a business trip to Rome where I'll be solo. Like the rest of Europe, is it perfectly acceptable to dine alone with a newspaper for lunch and dinner? Does it matter what caliber of restaurant - in other words should I be looking for casual spots? Finally, what time is best to go out solo?
Samphan-New Thai in Eastern Market
While I think it's a step in the right direction for the neighborhood, the take away I recently had was middling, a regrettable commonplace with ethnic eateries in the district, in particular Thai. The staff running the place are certainly nice enough. Matchbox, on the other hand, is a highlight for the neighborhood.
Where to eat in BA on Dec. 26?
Wife and I will be arriving into BA on Dec. 26 and staying in Palermo Soho for several days. Can anyone recommend options for the day after Christmas? We'll be ready to dive into some steaks and red wine. Anything with a local flavor that may be open? Thanks in advance.
Central
My wife and I eat at Central regularly. From quality, consistency, and price point, the place is hard to beat and I would argue without peer. This is particularly true in the context of "bistro cooking;" the steak tatare, rillets, oysters, roast chicken, steak frites, are all top notch. Plus there are nice not-so-normal bistro dishes. The place has not slipped since opening.
