Son of a Gun must orders?

Thanks for the recs everyone! I had the lobster roll, shrimp toast, salmon collars--was still a bit hungry and saw bad nono's response on my phone, got the poke. Finished with lime desert. (obviously went a bit overboard here.) Everything was great, but the salmon collars were the real highlight.

Son of a Gun must orders?

Well, hurricane Irene left me stuck in LA for a few days longer than I had planned, so I'm going to make the most of it by trying Son of a Gun tonight. Is there anything that really shouldn't be missed? I'm probably going solo, so not going to be able to sample 3/4 of the menu, as I've seen many of the reviewers do. Thanks so much for any recommendations!

Driving south from New York--where to stop in NC?

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend and I are driving down to South Carolina from New York. We mostly likely want to stop for a night and most of the next day somewhere in North Carolina, but we're not sure where to go. We ideally want to stay near the coast. Anyone have any suggestions of where would be a nice place to stop for awhile, where we could get some good southern food for dinner and/or breakfast? Would Wilmington be a good bet, or is there somewhere else that would be better?

Thanks so much!

Okonomiyaki in NYC?

The Chowhound Team split this question from the Los Angeles board. If you have any okonomiyaki tips for L.A. please respond here:

I've just moved the other way. As a former Angeleno I'll follow everyone else in recommending Gaja, but could you tell me where to go in NY? I could really use some good okonomiyaki out here. Thanks!
