Restaurants Near Paradise Valley/Scottsdale AZ

I've been to 3 LDM locations - on S. Central, Washington, and the one in NYC. The New York version just doesn't cut it, Central Avenue is it.

Tucson, mid-afternoon, interesting ?

Metro and Wildflower have gone downhill over the last few years, if you ask me, but I don't think you'd have a bad meal at either. If you're downtown, Grill (Congress & Scott) is one of the more interesting places in the state - the clientele is eclectic, and it's the only place I've ever been where one can order grilled swordfish or a bowl of Cap'n Crunch. They're open 24/7, so if you can grab dinner or late night here, I'd recommend it. Cup Cafe is inside the Hotel Congress (Congress and 5th Avenue), which is more or less the most famous building in Tucson, and again interesting people aplenty. Beyond Bread (Campbell & Ft. Lowell) is ridiculously good. Bison Witches on 4th Avenue is also fairly well-known for great sandwiches and soups - very relaxed, hippie (for lack of a better term) atmosphere, so if that's not your thing, don't go there. If you can coax yourself into experimenting with Mexican varieties, Cafe Poca Cosa and Mi Nidito, both downtown, are remarkable little restaurants. Not Mexican in the Garcia's way, truly fantastic food. I miss living in Tucson every day - it is a great place, I hope you get a chance to enjoy it.
