Florence for Easter

Thank you so much. Do you have any recommendations for a family of 4 with two teenagers; nothing too expensive.

Florence for Easter

My family and I will be in Florence for Easter Sunday and Monday. Will we be able to get a decent meal or will all the restaurants be closed? Recommendations please.

Lokal "Worst place for food that I have ever been."

I just got back from Prague and enjoyed excellent meals based on the recommendations on this board. We had dinners at La Finestra, V. Zatisi - which was superb and Kolkonov. My husband remained behind to attend a conference and asked me to recommend a place for dinner where he could go with his colleagues. I suggested Lokal since it gets such rave reviews here. I just received a text from him saying that it is the worst place for food that he has ever been and his colleagues blame him. They are afraid to even use the bathroom. These are not people who don't appreciate good food. Most of them are sophisticated foodies. What gives? Is there more than one Lokal? Did they go to the wrong one?

Chinatown for a large group including kids

Does anyone have a recommendation? I read on the boards that Amazing 66 would be a good place. Just wondering if anyone had any other ideas. There will be about 25 people including children so we need some basic American Chinese food as an option. Thanks.

Small, Low-lit, Cozy, Romantic Restaurant Needed!

Matyson has just what you are looking for: cozy, small, low lit and it's a BYOB and more importantly the food is delicious. It's right near Rittenhouse Square so you won't have to cab it.

Chicken Cheesesteaks?

I usually only get chicken cheesesteaks to try to save calories. I love Pudges as it seems everyone else does. Chubby's in Roxborough makes a good one too, although it has been a few years since I have had one at all. (the calorie saving thing).

My sister just moved from Manhattan to Coopersburg (yikes) which is equidistant from Quakertown, Allentown and Bethlehem. I want to be able to recommend some restaurants to her but really don't know the area. any suggestions for some upscale and casual meals in the area. she especially likes sushi and Italian food.

Tinto First visit

I went there for lunch and was very disappointed. The menu is very limited. The food was good, just nothing to rave about. My husband has been there on business a couple of times and loved it. My good friend loves it too. I hope you have a better experience than I did.

after matyson?

I would recommend going to Tria for some dessert wine. its right around the corner and you can sit outside if it's a nice night. If you aren't too stuffed from Matyson you can order some cheeses to go with your wine.

Philadelphia restaurant itinerary help

I agree, the pizza at Osteria is sooo much better than at Otto. As a matter of fact the whole restaurant is head and shoulders above Otto, save for the olive oil gelato. the pizza with egg and the pasta with chicken livers are to die. i would not come to Philadelphia without a trip there you would truly be missing out.

Any room at the inn? Great food + rooms

My husband and i stayed at the Golden Pheasant Inn in Erwinna right outside of New Hope. It was lovely with delicious food. My only caveat is that we stayed there over 10 years ago so I am not sure if it still as good. They have a website if you google them (sorry my kids are at school and I don't know how to do a link).

Pudge's Blue Bell

A friend of mine mentioned that Pudge's is closed. Does anyone know if this is true? Did they close or just relocate? Do they have other locations?

Sardinia, Casa Tua, Scarpetta or somewhere else?

My husband and I will be in Miami next month to celebrate our anniversary. We love Italian food and are looking for a restaurant with excellent Italian food and good wine. All of the menus look good, but which is the best or is there somewhere else we should head?

Lunch on the beach Miami

Not really on the beach, but somewhere we could walk to along the beach, so lunch at a hotel that we could walk onto from the beach would be fine.
As to the Talula recommendation, do you think it is different enough than Michael's to go to?
They sort of seemed of the same genre. Please advise. Thanks.

5 Napkin Burger

Going to a show tomorrow with some friends and this is the restaurant they picked. I don' t really eat burgers. Is anything else on the menu good? I noticed they have sushi. Has anyone tried it? What can I get besides a burger?

xmas eve in white haven, PA (Jack Frost area)

Bel'Lago at Split rock Resort is decent Italian, nothing special but they may be open since they are part of the resort. You could also try Nick's Lake House which has pretty good bar food: nachos, wings burgers etc. Same owners also have Louie's Prime, a steak house and Shenanigans (again, bar foo). you don;t really have a lot of choices in this area, but you could call or go on line to see if these places are open xmas eve. There is a Chinese rest. in the Blakeslee Plaza (where the local supermarket is), but I have never been there.

As long as we're talkin' pizza - Blue Bell???

I grew up in NY and can say that I know my pizza. Michael's on Butler Pike across from the old Broad Axe Tavern is the best pizza I have had in Philly ( aside from Taconelli's). We like our pizza thin so we order it that way and it is perfect every time.

Best Sandwich in the World

For those of you who live in Philly or who have been to Citizens Bank Park where the Phillies play, How about the Shcmitter: cheesesteak served on a kaiser with fried salami, tomatoes and onions with a special sauce(kind of like Russian dressing). So good.
Also, the ham and cheese baguettes that are the street food of Paris. So good, so simple: ham, emmenteler cheese, butter on a crusty baguete.

Alison Two (Fort Washington) - Anyone try it yet?

My husband and I went last night. We sat at the bar and had an amazing experience. We almost didn't go because my girlfriend went and hated it. It's kind of weird how many people are having such different experiences. We loved it. Started with a great drink called the Derby - their take on a mint julep. My husband had a white burgundy followed by their house red both of which were excellent (my husband is a total wine snob). The bartender Dave was very friendly and even bought my hubby a beer. We had the shrimp papri chat (spelling?) and the fried oysters both were wonderfeul. Then we had the tuna sliders which I am dreaming about and the lamb chop with chick pea puree - heavenly. We skipped dessert but the menu had our mouths watering. We will definitely be back. As a matter of fact I am going to lunch there this week - can't wait!
