I hold a monthly program with a different theme. There's a food component, and it should reflect the theme. This month's theme is WEALTH AND FAME, and I'm trying to find something to serve that is associated with that -- maybe something in Asian cuisine that is eaten for wealth? good fortune? The only thing I've found so far is shark fin soup, which I'd rather avoid. Any ideas? Much thanks for any suggestions. |

Indian restaurant Chelsea or W Village or Flatiron I live near Curry Hill, and our go-to is Tiffin Wallah, 28th and Lex --- unlike a lot of places, their food is super-fresh. Try the Samosa Chat, and the sukhi bahji. MMmmmmm. ----- |

Anyone know of a spot where I can get some traditional Mexican items related to Dia de los Muertos? I'm looking for the sugar skulls, some pan, candied pumpkin, and anything else related. And if there are some great tamales I'd pick them up, too. Manhattan is preferred, but outer boros cool, too. Thanks! |
