Fish Phone Number

Hi there -

Can someone provide me with the phone number to Fish, which I've read a lot about on this board. I'm calling from Manhattan and having some trouble...maybe I have the wrong number?

Thank you!

Paris for the Weekend - a few questions!

I totally agree - whenever we're in Paris we seem to overdo it and I feel ill by the time I get home...we have tried to break it up in the past by having lunch at little places like Rose Bakery, which is delicious but can be on the lighter side. Any thoughts Souphie on questions #2 and #3? Thank you!!

Paris for the Weekend - a few questions!

Hello - my boyfriend and are are headed to Paris the weekend of October 9th. We live in Manhattan and have been lucky enough to visit Paris a few times. I really want our restaurant schedule to be perfect this time though and I have a few questions for all of you foodies:

1. So far we are thinking Chez L'ami Jean (which I've learned about thanks to this board) and Le Meurice for dinner, and Le Cinq for lunch. A friend recommended Petrelle for another dinner - what do you think? I am in to funkier, bohemian places, so would it be a nice counterpoint to our other choices or would it be disappointing in comparison (and would the bf's parents like it?)?

2. Do you have any recommendations for a slightly more casual, scenier restaurant, maybe in the Marais? We went to Glou last time and really enjoyed it, both for the people watching and the food. Have also been to Hotel Amour, which was a great scene but only mediocre food.

3. Does anyone know anything about Fidélite? We tried it last time at a friend's raving recommendation only to find it empty when we arrived. Did we just get there too early (I think it was around 9:30) or were we given bad guidance?

Thank you for any and all suggestions!!

Inexpensive Sushi in West Village

Hi there,

I am looking for an inexpensive but good sushi restaurant in the West Village for nights when I just want an early, easy bite. I used to go to Zutto a lot on Greenwich Ave. before it closed. Would prefer something close to W.4 th and 6th Avenue. I know there are a few spots along Carmine but I don't know what's good!

Thank you!

Dinner on the Upper West Side

Hi there,

I am meeting a friend on the Upper West Side but am at a loss as to where to go. I live in the West Village and have a million favorites in my neighborhood - 'ino, westville, extra virgin. Any suggestions for something similar on the UWS? Something moderately priced but delicious would be ideal.

Thank you!

South Beach Restaurants?

Hi there,

I am going to South Beach with my mom and two sisters (ages 20 and 22) over Christmas vacation. We all enjoy good food and would definitely like to go to some fantastic restuarants. Maybe not the most most expensive, but still very nice and definitely those that are in the "scene". Nothing too quiet or boring...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Gems in the East Village?

Hello,

I am looking for a good place to eat tonight in the East Village other than Mermaid Inn, which I love but have already been to multiple times. I live in the WV and like places like Extra Virgin, Po, Pearl, etc. Thought I might have a nice evening across town.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

Gourment/Specialty Jam?

Hello,

I am putting together a small gift basket to bring to our hosts for the weekend and wanted to put scones and special jam in it. Can anyone think of somewhere to go for the jam (or something of the like) other than just Whole Foods - maybe a gourmet or specialty shop? In the West Village or Chelsea would be preferable.

Thank you!
