Best Brownie in NYC
I'm partial to the brownies at Film Forum and also at the maracon place on 23rd St.
Breakfast either at the American Museum of Natural History or..........
There's a new restaurant at the New York Historical Society (just across the street from AMNH) that's supposed to be excellent. They may serve brunch on weekends.
Butterscotch or Caramel?
What's the difference between butterscotch, salted caramel, and dulce de leche other than the eponymous salt? Can someone enlighten me, please?
My Birthday in the Theater District
I had a delicious birthday dinner before theater a couple weeks ago at DB bistro.
Early dinner near west 28th before show....any suggestions on Italian
I'd recommend their stuzzichini (a gargantuan selection of Venetian tapas). Their lasagna is delicious as is their cannelloni (not on the menu, but offered as a special frequently.) My only issue with the restaurant is that it can be noisy.
Scandinavian Cinnamon Bread - Kanelbrød, Kanelbulle, Snegl
I went to AQ Kafe yesterday morning for a slice of their delicious cardamom coffee cake and was informed that they have changed bakers. Everything in their display case looks ordinary and sad. No more tasty Scandanavian yummies.

Decent breakfast near W. 57th and 9th?
Jean-Georges is one of the best bargains in town for breakfast. It's a power crowd, that's for sure.

RUGALACH
Junior's: either in Manhattan or in Brooklyn. Their rugelach is superior to their cheesecake.

Willing to make time to try NYC's BEST Southern Fried Chicken - But Where??!!
Even for 6, you need 6 big eaters! The Korean chicken is unspeakably delicious.
Restaurant with really good burger and mac and cheese?
Good Enough to Eat on the UWS. Great cakes too.

Telepan lunch -- a great chef coasts
I've been many times and have only had wonderful experiences there. It's my go-to place on the UWS.
Restaurant near Gershwin Theater, before 7 p.m. showing.
It's casual, not too expensive, and yummy: Ember Room: 647 Ninth Av. (at 47th st.)

slice of cake
Good Enough to Eat on the UWS, anytime between the lunch crush and dinner. The coconut cake, German chocolate, double chocolate, and banana cake are perhaps the best in the city.

Suggestions for dinner pre-opera
Unless something has changed since summer, Lincoln is even more expensive than Picholine.
Fruitcake
Stollen is very different from fruitcake. The former is a yeast dough, i.e. bread with scattered fruits, where fruitcake is just what it sounds like it would be.
Stollen back at the Milk Bar stand at Union Square
I concur. Nothing special at all.
Ate at Italian restaurant this weekend and they only offered bottled water - sparkling or flat
Please tell us the name of the restaurant. I will never, ever go.

I've had all the cakes mentioned except for Minetta Tavern. Good Enough to Eat is what you want. If you don't live nearby, call ahead to make sure it's fresh that day.
