Williams Sonoma has a very good series of books called Kids Cooking. My 10 and 12 year old enjoy them.
Also we like (for a bit more experienced cook) Fast Food My Way by Jacques Pepin. My 12 year old uses it often.

Try Bolton. Two orchards: Bolton Spring and Bolton Orchards. A nice place to get a bite and coffee is Bolton Orchards or Great Brook Farm.
You may also be interested in Nashoba Winery and Orchard in Bolton and their more upscale J's restaurant.

I personally think Murphy's is meh. The Canoe Club is nice if you need/want to be in Hanover, but the Tip Top has better food.

We in the nh/vt upper valley area still have many great places that are open! We have had great devastation, but fall is prime time up here so please come and support us and eat! The Woodstock inn may still be closed but there are lots of other lovely places. The Norwich Inn is open and just beautiful.

I never worked for Jacques, nor am I in the profession. But he was my neighbor in CT so I did know him. Nicest guy in the world. With the nicest family to boot! Lovely and unpretentious.

The Fort is great but don't expect fancy! one clarification...it is off I 89, not 93....maybe 3 minutes away from the DHMC facility.

For good diner type food, there is the Fort in Lebanon or Lous in Hanover.
If you'd like to sit for something a bit nicer we like the Norwich Inn across the river in VT or Market Table in downtown Hanover.

Im embarrassed to know this but....Coconut Island was just season 2 and 3. Season1 of Gilligan actually used the island we saw-- in the Bahamas-- called Sandy Cay.
