Veal Parmagiana in the West End?
There's Posticino on queensway which will have it for sure.- but how about Eden on Marine Parade -- a beautiful restaurant for a lunch. Your mom would like it. (although not that kitchy italian which is fun like mama martinos)
I know they serve veal ... and I know they serve lots of pasta -- just not sure if together so please call if you go there.
Where oh where to get canned or packaged poutine sauce (e.g. St. Hubert) in east end Toronto
the Sobeys near me (on Queensway and Parklawn) sells the St. Huberts sauce in containers by the roasted chickens -- i'd assume the other stores are the same?
alternative to asian legend? in markham or richmond hill-
looking for a place similar to asian legend for a birthday dinner tomorrow night
wants are good food and a busy restaurant - it doesnt need to be nice inside
we live downtown and dont venture north very much so hoping someone can help me
i'm asking for an alternative because we went to asian legend last year on this birthday and loved it -- just would like to try something new.
ISO: Etobicoke's equivalent of Diana's Seafood
not going to be the best advise as i've never actually been there myself
but there's a Diana-ish looking place (large and mainly wholesale but selling on the smaller scale out of the side) on Vansco Rd (across from Ikea) - it's called Allseas Fish and it looks pretty big and clean.
Oh no - PC Sticky toffee pudding
Loblaws on East Mall has them also
not very many though
Long Branch, New Toronto, Mimico Restaurants & Food Shops
glad to have another place in the neighbourhood
was dissapointed from my last order from Dino's
KitchenAid Fridge experiences?
we actually have bought 4 of that exact model (KBRS19KTMS) for rental properties we own .... also requiring something under 30 inches wide .... it's been 3 years and zero problems
very happy with them
if you're okay without the kitchenaid sticker on them .... the exact same model is sold under the Maytag brand for less money
ghirardelli chocolate - in bulk?
there's also a Lindt outlet/store on Queensway a little west of Kipling (in the same plaza with the Golftown and Futureshop)
Where to eat if visiting for 2 days
Hi all,
I will be in dc for a business trip in a few weeks. I have time for two dinners, budget of about $50 including wine but will go over for something phenomenal. We are staying at Hilton Capitol hill, so hoping to find somewhere in walking distance. Any recs? Thanks in advance.
If it helps, we love all food. I have eaten around the world and favourite spots are the less trendy in your face spots with truly delicious, special food.
Ps... We are indeed in dc for the special dining week but unsure where to go and whether we can get a reservation.
steak and kidney pie
i've been very happy with the ones from Hot Oven Bakery (they have a location in Cloverdale mall and another on Bloor and Royal York) (they have amazing butter tarts too)

Best Butcher for Steaks?
Im a big fan of Cheese Botique (south kingway area)
their 50 day bone in rib eye is amazing and always impresses my friends both in how ginormous it looks and how it tastes
The Restaurant at Palace Pier
i live in the condo next door and have the ability to buy a guest pass to go to this place ($70 for the year) ... while our neighbourhood is very very lacking foodwise im not sure if i will make the trek next door to eat.
In brighter news ... a new French style bakery is opening on Marine Parade
BEST PLACE FOR CHICKEN OR LAMB BIRYANI IN OR AROUND TORONTO?
i posted this 3 years ago --> and i still think it's the best place (the National Post agrees)
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/469781#3211217
by far the best Biryani i've found in the gta is in this super small whole in the wall place in scarborough at Danforth and Brimley called 'Ghareeb Nawaz'. They have a location in Chicago which is very famous apparently too. Anyways -- the lamb is only available on the weekends....but the chicken is available everyday and is super cheap and good.
this is no means whatsoever a place to take a date...it's takeout only and and a total hole (albiet with great eats)
where to buy a few pails of sour cherries?
i'd like to buy some fresh sour cherries -- i saw the buckets for sale at loblaws a couple of days ago but did not see them there today.

San Pellegrino Amara sparkling drink in the GTA

while i've never been myself - even though i live like a minute away ..... Mama Martino's on Queensway (east of royal york) is always ram packed ... they seem the kinda place to do those dishes --- red checkered tablecloth and all.
there's that neat shnitzle place nearby also i've never tried
President's Choice Ceramic Knives in GTA
