Birthday Dinner MIami Steackhouse

Hello,

It's my girlfriends birthday next weekend and she wants to go to a steakhouse. I think I've narrowed it down to BLT Steak, Red, Bourbon Steak, and The Forge (She doesn't want to go to Meat Market or Prime 112). The only place on that list we havent been is Bourbon Steak. Which place would you guys choose? We will probably both have a bone-in filet if that makes a difference.

Other high-end steakhouse recommendations are welcome. We are based in Brickell but I woul go up to Ft. Lauderdale if its really worth it.

Thanks in advance,

Eric

BDay dinner in Design District(Miami)

Went to Buena Vista last night. We had the escargot, jumbo scallops, snapper, dessert + a bottle of wine. Total was 82 and I think the wine was about 45. Food is always delicious and as you can see very reasonably priced

Outdoor Dining 10-14 ppl for co-worker bday

I was thinking Ragazzi since I've known Beto the owner for a few years and he always treats my group well. I think we're going to end up doing Las Vacas Gordas.
We are all in our 20's and from Latin America, so meat is perfect. I haven't been their in maybe 8 years, hopeflly it will be good.

On a side note, went to try Red Light last night. Place was at about 75% capacity, I see what you all mean when you say Kriss is a hard working chef. The guy was doing all the cooking alone. I was there 2 hours and he was going non stop. Unfortunately no BBQ shrimp but the mussels, quail and spiny lobster were very good! I am adding it my neighborhood haunts with Michael, Michy's and Buenavista.

Thanks for the reply, forgot to mention I called Michael's yesterday and they could fit such a big party this saturday. Any word on Creek 28? I see they have a 3 course dinner option but its not priced on the website. I'm thinking of trying Red Light tonight with the gf to scope it out. We both live in the high teen's so the closer the better!!

I have only been to Brosia for brunch, can anyone comment on the dinner menu?

Outdoor Dining 10-14 ppl for co-worker bday

Hello,

My girlfriend's co-worker want to go out for dinner this saturday. It will mostly be people from their office plus significant others. Outdoor dining and a fun ambience would be nice.

I recommended:

Talula, Barton G, Michaels, Texas de Brasil SB, Casa Tua

But apparently some in the party don't usually go out to dinner and much less to pricey places. Presumably we will all chip in and pay the b-day girls part, if not I will cover it. I really don't want a place where people will be put off by the prices and the menu should be somewhat diverse in case of any picky eaters. I think they would prefer entrees in the 15-25 range.

I was thinking maybe one of the following:

Red Light, Uva 69, Brosia, Cafe Ragazzi

I am drawing a blank! Do you guys agree with any of these picks or can you reccomend others? Thanks!!

NYC wknd recs. Haven't been in 10 years.

I'll take a look at Convivio. Thanks for the brunch recommendations.

We're open to anything for lunch, a friend recommended Public, Spotted Pig and Resto? Was wondering if they are any good?

Thanks again!

Hello,

I live in Miami and use this board often, especially when I travel. I havent been to nyc in over 10 years so am a little out of it. I am going with my gf from Oct 30 - Nov 2. I am 29 she is 25.

We are staying in the Benjamin Hotel (125 E 50th) the first night, then I'm heading to my sister's place in Murray Hill (245 E 49th). My mom is also in nyc tending to my sick aunt. She is staying at my cousin's place which iI believe is b/t 72-75 C Park West.

So what I was hoping for were some suggestions. My gf wants to go to Barmarche on Thrusday night, aooarently she loves that restaurant.

Friday I was think of dinner for about 8 people. Something nice and trendy but not over the top or too pricey. Location is not a probelm. I've heard good things of Pheasant and Alto, but am open to suggestions.

Saturday unfortuantely is shopping day so I have no idea where exactly we will be for breakfast or lunch. Probably ranging from Murray Hill to SOHO, if you guys have a cant miss lunch spot we'd love to know

Finally Sunday. I would like to take my mom and aunt out for brunch with my gf and sister. My aunt is doing chemo/radiation so I really dont want to go to far from the apt. They are on Central Park W in the 70's. Hopefully you guys can suggest a good brunch place in that area.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!
