a bit of clear corn syrup will also help with preventing crystallization.

Looking for a New Cranberry Sauce Recipe

I make the Cranberry-Orange Sauce from Cook's Illustrated because it's easy and delicous. It also works great for making Cranberry Culprit cocktails (look for that recipe here on Chow).

CRANBERRY-ORANGE SAUCE

3/4 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 TB freshly-grated orange zest
1/4 tsp table salt
1 (12 oz.) bag fresh cranberries
2 TB Grand Marnier

Bring water, sugar, orange zest, and salt to boil in medium saucepan over high heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve sugar. Stir in cranberries; return to boil. Reduce heat to medium; simmer until saucy, slightly thickened, and about two-thirds of berries have popped open, about 5 minutes. Off heat; stir in Grand Marnier. Transfer to nonreactive bowl, cool to room temperature, and serve.

Best Gyro in San Francisco?

I really like the #22 at Gyro King on Grove, right across from the main entrance to the SF Public Library there. #22 is the lamb and beef gyro and it's almost as big as any burrito from the Mission! Very filling and delicious. I have a friend I like to go there with and all I have to do is call him up and say "Wanna get a #22?" - LOL.

They also have really good tabbouleh too.

Ragu recipe ideas for Gnocchi al Cinghiale holiday meal

My foodie best friend and I are making Wild Boar Ragu for Christmas dinner too! We're not sure yet if we're gonna do gnocchi or pappardelle with it though. :-)

Good luck!

Recipes You've Never Heard of Outside Your Family

OMG. All of those look like her tater tot casserole, except for that last one on the 3rd row with the peas on top. *shudder*

Recipes You've Never Heard of Outside Your Family

My grandmother would make a "Shepherd's Pie" of sorts with a few cans of vegetable beef soup (Campbell's condensed - without adding the water) and top it with canned biscuits and my stepmother used to make this tater tot casserole that was something like ground beef, onion and bell pepper, a bottle of ketchup and topped with frozen tater tots and cheddar cheese and baked til golden brown and bubbly.

Revamped Foodnetwork.com ?

I have been having this problem also. It is VERY aggravating. I log in, and go to "My Recipe Box" and can see all of my custom folders "Beef & Pork" "Veggies/Sides" "Desserts" etc... and the # of recipes in each folder, but I when I click on one of them, nothing ever loads. Also, when you go to their "My Recipe Box" FAQ/Help section, the help page never loads either! Of course all of the obnoxious ads and banners show up, but your actual content never does! I do NOT want to lose the 97 recipes I have saved there. I have them saved because I have made them before and LOVE them! I have tried to contact them via email and used their "Report A Bug" feature, but I doubt I will ever hear anything back. Hopefully it's just a snag in their server/website changes.
