Jenkintown/Abington/Glenside/Willow Grove

Hi~ Am on the "mature side"(Not 86)and live in the area! I would NOT recomment Tiffin for this occasion~~~~ Not real comfortable seating and a bit stark! Moonstuck is lovely and White Elephant in Huntington Valley Shopping Center(Near Genuardi's) is pretty, quiet and although Thai has a vaied menu(LOve their Cornish Hens)
A good place I think! New little FrenchBistro in Jenkintown~ Very small~ Heard the food is good and it is upscale(Equal to 211 York I would say) Good luck!

SUnday Brunch

Well I have not asked this for quite a while so here I am AGAIN!

Am looking for a nice brunch for tomorrow~ Two mature ladies who are young at heart~ Would love a jazz brunch but they do not seem to exist anymore!
PRefer not to go into town tomorrow ~~~~~~~ AMbler girl any suggestions???

Chestnut Hill area, Ambler, BLue Bell , Doylestown etc~~~~~ WOuld prefer QUALITY as opposed to QUANTITY for this occassion~

NO Manyunk Brewing COmpany as we recently went there with our JAzz Lovers group~ That was QUANTITY and OPPOSED to QUALITY but good Jazz so that made up for it~

As ususal THANK YOU ~~~~~~~~~~~

Bridal Shower in So Jersey(Cherry Hill etc)

THank you so veryyyy much~~~~~ I knew I could count on you ~ I should have said MODERATE but that varies doesn't it and I should have said OPEN On Sunday but I have many choices to look into now! Spoke to La Bianco previously and felt they were too pricey for what they were offereing! I thought I could get more "bang for the buck" elsewhere!

Again Thank you and I should be able to have several options from these lists and then will pass info to the others who are paricipating so we can choose~ I am one of the PA people and know very little about the restaurnts in NJ~

Bridal Shower in So Jersey(Cherry Hill etc)

THanks Tom!!!!!!!!!!! Need a private room anyway but might consider it for another time! Am finding less help on here then when I needed a place In Central NJ for a 95th BD party~ Got many suggestions and it worked out great! Am afraid that the Mansion that was suggested will be too expensive(Have been there for a few weddings)

Do you know of anyplaces that might have aprivate room that is open on Sunday! Again Thank you ~

Bridal Shower in So Jersey(Cherry Hill etc)

I am looking for a nice restaurant to hold a bridal shower in a private room for about 50 women of all ages~ A nice luncheon is what we are looking for! Attendees are from both No Jersey and Philadelphia area so this seemed like a good compromise~ Collingsdale was recommended as having some nice new restaurnts! I would appreciate your help as I have no idea where to start! Thank you in advance!

REVISED POST FOR HELP FOR BRIDAL SHOWER

Sorry got the capitals in the heading but my cap lock stuck and I did not realize until it was posted! Accept my aplolgy please!

REVISED POST FOR HELP FOR BRIDAL SHOWER

I posted a post earlier and maybe I need to clarify it~~~~~ A nice restaurant with a private room that will seat about 50 ladies for a bridal shower luncheon in the Cherry Hill, Haddonfield , Collingswood area(OR parts of Philadelphia close to 95 or Rt 1) as part of the attendees are from NO Jersey and part of from Philadelphia and suburbs and range in age from young to "Mature"` You helped me before with another party which turned out great and I am CONFIDENT that several of you foodies will give me good advice so I thank you in advance~~~~~~~~

Help please for Bridal Shower

Reccomendations please for a nice(but moderate) restaurant that has a private room for a bridal shower luncheon~ Cherry Hill area or close to there or someplace near Rt 1or 95 in Pa(ex Nechaminy area) as some of the attendees are from Nothern NJ and some are from Philadelphia and suburbas area so we are trying to compromise for the lcoation~ Eiherr American style(continenental) or similar preffered~ Thank you for your help~

SaturdayLunch Near BLue Bell

Well My friend and I had a lovely lunch at Coleman"s at Normandy Farm~~~~~ He had the petit filett and I had the salmon~They were able to change the salmon for me as I can not have SPICEYYY adn whatever they did it was DELICIOUS~ Portions were more then adequate for a lunch protion~
That was the good news~~~~ The less positive was the service~ Apparently a server called out(At least that was what I was told) and there was only one server(Only 3 tables eating when we were there so that should not have been a problem) but I was told he was new when I mentioned soemthing to the hostess~ NO rolls served and when I asked server said he had to heat them up and we got them when we were almost finished with our lunch~

We enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden afterward as it was a lovely day but I will not hurry back expecially when I saw the dinner prices~

Thanks though for the suggetion~

Open to most types of food and we are looking for a nice place but not TOO Upscale! NO CHinese however! TrPiani is too upscale(Looked at the menu) and too far! There will be two great grandhcildren(9 and 6) (How lucky) so we need a place where they can get something like steak or chicken!

Liquor licence please as my father -in -law like his scotch(maybe that is how he got to be 95)(Smile)

REgarding Nickey Fishers~~~~~~~~~~~As I said I have had their battered trout several times!Freidn Had RIBS which were great but messy, I also had porkchop which comes in everal choice of sauces(I chose Apricot) Crab Cake is not bad~~~~~IF you go(IF you have not already gone) Tell Nicky that the Redheaded jazz lover sent you (Smile) Enjoy~~~~~~~~ Alfio was a legend with his Caesar salad and his magic tricks~ Followed him since he was in the basement of the Benson(Now Collonade) apts~ He even wore his tuxedo there~

Let me know what you think of Nicky Fishers~~~~~~~~

SUNDAY BRUNCH IN THE BURBS

I need a recommendation for a SUNDAY BRUNCH(No buffet please) IN the BLue BEll, Ambler, Abington etc area! MY friend had a foot operation and can not walk far so the parking has to be near the restaurant(Strip shopping center is probably the best) Not sure which restaurnts serve Sunday Brunch! A place that accepts reservations would be great because of friends"s foot situation!

Thanks!

Glenside, PA

Well I read thru everyone"s replies as I have lived in this area for a LONGGGG time and know all of the restaurnts~~I never understood why aeveryone RAVES about Marco Polo
~~ Plese do not forget Nickey Fishers On LimekilnPike~(The OLde Alfios location) Have had some good diners there. The young chef is adventursesome(and nice besides)(Smile) and the menu is varied with fairly resonable prices! The buttermilk coated Trout is one of my favorites!THe presentation is equal to a"FINE DINING" restaurant! (I love my littel orchid on the plate)

They had jazz for a whilel on Sunday Nights and hope it comes back!

We need to SUPPORT a local retauranant so it hangs in there!

I have read your recommendations and hve been checking out the restaurants (Have been to very few of the "Popular ones")Audrey Claire seems to be the only one I have found so far that lets you order from regular menu! Goiing with a gentleman friend and am afraid any one of the French restaurants will leave him wanting MORE when we leave! Can not get into Estia already for Friday! Hvae never been to Ruth Chris but choices look very ordinary!

YOU all gave me good suggestios for UNiversity Rstaurant Week(We both Loved NAN) so I am counting on you again! Thanks!
