L'Espalier dessert prices?
L'Espalier doesn't usually serve dessert or single courses a la carte because all of their menus are prix fixe. Did you make it online or through the restaurant? If through the restaurant, I didn't know they did that ... is it in their Salon or the restaurant itself?
Desserts in the salon are $10 to $12 each, I think, so it could be the same at the table. The cheese plate is a bit more.

Need a $$ dinner rec for this Sun.
I second O Ya. With good alcohol, it'd run you about $300/person. Sounds like three birthday/Christmas dinners to me ... and the food is worth it.
Wouldn't bother with Clio. Disappointed.
Top 5 Boston Restaurants
I recommend O Ya (one of the best meals I've had in my lifetime) or No. 9 Park. At No. 9, the ambiance, the service, and most importantly the food were superb, especially that foie gras.
FugaKme?!?
I have never enjoyed a meal there. We spent a good amount of money on mediocre sushi that all tasted the same (like scallions and mayo, even when there was no mayo listed on the menu.) I second Genki Ya as a better choice. Some of the sushi options are a little out there but it's twice as good for half the price.
Vegetarian dinner?
I'm taking friend out for a late holiday/early birthday gift, and I need some recommendations. She's a vegetarian, I am not although I love to do the vegetarian tastings ... I've checked out the Oleana website and that looks fantastic to me, but does anyone have other recommendations? Price doesn't matter, but I do want to go somewhere that does a fantastic vegetarian meal. And preferably not brunch; I'm the only human being who hates going to brunch.

Au Pied de Cochon!
Per the recommendations of this group, my group of five and I made a reservation for Sat. night, and we are already loosening our belts in anticipation. I would just like to bathe in foie gras.
Problem is, we have one vegetarian and one picky will-eat-chicken-and-maybe-fish-if-you-trick-her in the group. The rest of us are adventurous meat eaters, for whom APDC is nothing short of nirvana.
Are there any recommendations for what we can do with our more-animal-friendly-and-less-joyful companions? Is it cruel of us to drag them along? Can we feed them bread and twigs all night? I'm just not sure if there are enough veg. options on the menu, and if someone has been there before and can let me know, I will be most grateful.
Suggestions for dinner?
Thanks, all.
Also, a maitre d' at work recommended Restaurant Laloux. Any thoughts?
Suggestions for dinner?
Ah, I have heard of this one. I'm checking out the website now.
Also, we are staying on the Rue St. Denis ... I know it's a very very long road, but we can always get a taxi if something is far. However, it might be nice to dine in the general area on Saturday night.
Suggestions for dinner?
My friends and I are going on a trip to Montreal from Boston the first weekend of November. I have not been to Montreal in years, and I did not get to eat anywhere particularly exciting when I was there. I was wondering if a Hound could recommend some restaurants for us to check out while there?
We're in our twenties, so nothing too stiff or stuffy, but we're also rather food-and-wine savvy. Cost is not so much of an issue, but we prefer quality over quantity, of course, and something that is Montreal-centric.
Any recommendations you have for me will be most welcome!!
