Gambino's Inn
My husband and I frequent a real sleeper in New Brunswick called Gambino's Inn.
While the ambience is not memorable, the food is. Great classic red Italian. We often will opt for one of their fish dishes because the fish is always fresh.
Service is casual but friendly.

My suggestion would be Marais. I have taken people there who will only eat in kosher restaurants. The supervision is OU which should be acceptable.

Skip Genarro's in Princeton
Tonight four of us went to dinner at Genarro's in Princeton. Service was very slow. Noise level approached unbearable. Worst of all, the food was mediocre at best. The Caesar salad dressing came out of a bottle. The fish was not at all fresh. The alleged lobster ravioli had never met the crustacean. Would NOT go back.

We went to Carpaccio in Middlesex which I had remembered as very nice, classic Italian. Horrendous choice. Dreadful service and mediocre food. And a manager that brushed us off when we voiced our dissatisfaction.
