Does anyone remember the Mexican Burro on Gandy?
My husband and I and another couple ate at the burro every Tuesday night after our weekly tennis game for years. Every week it was a cheese crisp and Dos Equis and it was wonderful! Judy was always our server. Boy, do I miss the Burro!
New fish market in Tampa?
I also went Saturday and bought shrimp which we boiled in beer and ate Sunday night. We were very impressed with both the freshness and the flavor and definitely will return soon. Didn't try any (although it was offered) but the smoked salmon smelled great! We are excited about having this place so close by.
Tampa trip report - variety
I agree with Datz and add that just a few blocks south on MacDill is Pane Rustica. Always an interesting menu, great food and atmosphere.

We are attending a concert at the King Center Saturday night. Staying at the Hampton Inn Melbourne-Viera and looking for a chowhound friendly retaurant in that vicinity where we can eat prior to the show. Looking for moderate prices with some good beer choices. Thanks for your help!

TPA-some place good to eat before hockey game
Hattricks is a hockey-themed bar in an old brick building within a couple of blocks of the arena. Good burgers and atmosphere!
Restaurants for the BCS Championship
We will be attending the BCS Championship game, staying at Spring Hill Suites, Dania Beach. Any ideas for unique, fun places to eat in that general area? Not looking for anything real pricey - we had to spend too much money on tickets! Thanks for any help!
Take-out Thanksgiving Tampa Bay
The NoHo Bistro delivered lunch (delicious!) to our office today and left a flyer with their Thanksgiving take out menu. It looks fabulous! However, orders must be made by Nov. 21. They got an outstanding review in Tribune's Friday Extra several weeks ago. Web site is www.thenohobistro.com
Great find in Gainesville
We tried Fresco on 34th Street this past weekend and loved it. We're only sorry we didn't find it until our next to last football weekend for the season! They feature build your own pasta dishes, pizza and numerous entrees and salads. I loved the veggies and pasta, my husband's eggplant parmesan was one of the best he'd every had and my son devoured his pizza. Prices very reasonable and salad and bread are included with entrees. Good beers on draft and an interesting wine list. In an area of town where chains abound, this is a breath of fresh air - we will definitely be back!
Datz Deli in South Tampa
This new restaurant is still under construction but I just downloaded their menu at datzdeli.com and it looks fantastic! Anyone know if they are a chain?

The Gulf View Grille is just north of the Lock & Key. Food is good and it's a great place to watch the sunset while you eat.
