Philly Mag Top 50 Restaurants... Thanks, Chin. I was starting to think I was the only one who didn't "get" Brauhaus Schmitz. Not just in the inclusion in this list. Overall. The food and service disappointed. It has more of a bar/club atmosphere, at least in the evenings. Glad to see I'm not alone. |

Post-Funeral Gathering in Philadelphia - Help Please! I'd recommend The Kitchen Bar. http://www.kitchenbar.net/index.php# It is a straight shot up 611 (Broad St.) a little farther than Marco Polo's. It looks like they have private rooms available. I went after a funeral in the same area, mix of ages/tastes and everyone was happy with the meal. I would check to see if the entrance has a ramp, I do remember some steps to get in. |

I ate there last night. I'm in no great rush to go back. I thought the prices were a bit too high for that type of place. I had the goulash soup which was just odd. It had some very pronounced seasonings that overwhelmed the dish. My husband had the Goulash over spaetzle and I preferred his dish. It was more balanced. i also had the smoked trout salad which was just ok. It was loaded with smoked trout, but the salad itself needed some zing. We got there aroung 6:30 and it was busy, but not overly noisy. I know some have complained about the noise, so perhaps an early dinner is a better option here. |

Where is the Best Brunch in CC Philadelphia? Do they have a dress code? Or, how do people dress for brunch at LaCroix? |
