Vegetarian in Galveston

Visiting Galveston with my vegetarian daughter and need some lunch options.

Recs for lunch by the airport

Flying into the airport and heading toward Delaware.

Recs for lunch by the airport

Any good, casual places by the airport? Would especially like to try an authentic cheesesteak.

foods you ate as a kid (or young adult) that you wouldn't eat now?

I actually liked liver and onions as a kid - now the thought of eating an animal organ makes me gag.

Inaugural Galveston Restaurant Week 2012

I am all for supporting Galveston! Hope everyone goes to the Island and enjoys! Some of my favs are Di Bella's, Mosquito Cafe and Mario's. Looking forward to trying others I have been wanting to try.

Muffaletta Bread in Houston?

Abe's on Clear Lake City Boulevard will sell you some.

Dinner close to Verizon Wireless Theater

Heading to a concert with my daughter and need a vegetarian dinner rec within walking distance of the Verizon Wireless theater.

What is your "go to" meal when there is too much month left at the end of the paycheque - past or present

My mom made Macaroni and Tomatoes - still a family favorite amongst siblings. Not so much with spouses.

She also stuffed hot dogs with cheese and broiled them.

Chicken and dumplings.....lots of broth.

New Orleans specialties near Intercontinental (St. Charles & Poydras)

Definitely agree on the Bon Ton Cafe, Herbsaint and Dragos. All are easy walking distance and delicious!!!

Have been to New Orleans several times and enjoyed the local cuisine. And have visited our own TX Gulf Coast several times and enjoyed fresh caught, right in front of the house, trout and shrimp and still here to write about it!

Take pity on a poor vegetarian soul!

My daughter is vegetarian and she enjoyed Angeli on Decatur

Irene's, Cochans or Mila

I have dined at about 25 of New Orleans restaurants and am still narrowing down the list. I guess since I am a bit unfamilar with these three I would like to know what each one is about. I basically like seafood, anything that is considered special or "New Orleans Only" kind of dishes that any restaurant does, such as the BBQ Shrimp at Mr Bs! The signature dish. Any thoughts you have about any of them would be much appreciated.

Irene's, Cochans or Mila

Which would you choose?

Tulsa - Downtown Dining

Need some recs for dinner in downtown Tulsa.

Which store has the highest quality oysters in Houston?

Dined on the BBQ Shrimp at Mr B's the day before I visited Dragos. Back to New Orleans in August - already trying to plan my next wonderful meal.

Which store has the highest quality oysters in Houston?

Texasredtop! I always buy my seafood at Rose's. When they rebuilt after Ike they really went up high, as did some of the other places along that stretch.

Ate at Drago's in New Orleans Wednesday night. Those charbroiled oysters are amazing. Truly right up there on the best thing I ever ate list!

Boudin in Houston - for you Jaymes

There is a donut shop in League City that sales Boudin Kolaches! Now that is a treat! Ashley's donuts.

Dinner Close to the Fairmont Hotel

Can anyone provide dinner suggestions within walking distance of the Fairmont. Prefer casual.

Suggestion for a Casual Dinner in the FQ close to Canal

Suggestion for a Casual Dinner in the FQ close to Canal

Last nigt in town - wondering if you can suggest a nice, casual dinner closer to Canal in the FQ.

Lunch on Sunday Afternoon

Thanks TaTee! Happy to report I was able to make it in time to go to Commander's Palace. I have been to Galoatoire's and love it, but always like to try new places when I am able to be in New Orleans. Problem now is it is Sunday evening and I am looking for a casual place, just an appetizer would do! French Quarter/CBD casual.

We will be staying downtown area - pretty much central downtown. Main and McKinney area. Will be happy to spread out 4-5 block any direction from that location.

Downtown Dinner for a Group

Can you make some recs for a business dinner downtown around 5:30 for a group of about 10. Mid prices, variety.

Help me decide!

I will be in New Orleans for 6 days = 5 dinners. Going to places I have not gone to before!

Arriving early on Sunday I can wonder away from the CBD where I am staying but the other 4 dinners need to be in the French Quarter/CBD area. Have slotted Commander's Palace for that day.

Here are some places I am considering - if you could go to any 4 of these where would you go and what would you have?

Cochons
Coops
Deanies
K-Pauls

Best Houston Burgers

Read in the paper today that the guy that owns T-Bone Tom's, Barry Terrell, is the one reopening Tookies. When he purchased the restaurant the sale included all the recipes. T-Bone Tom's once supplied the meat for Tookie's hamburgers and will again. Fresh ground daily.
