Anniversary dinner in Port Carling??

Hi all,

I am going to be celebrating my anniversary up north in the Port Carling area. I am looking for a romantic restaurant with good food..... Is there anything in the area? I'd be willing to drive to any surrounding towns if it means I'll get a really nice meal.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Chobani Greek Yoghurt

I've recently seen Chobani at Longos at Bayview & Laureleaf. They had a few different flavors.

ISO resto with good food and eye candy on a Monday night

I'll add a fourth for Origin! I had a fantastic time there recently with a few of my girlfriends :)

Uncle Betty's?

I've taken the family to Uncle Betty's a few times now and have been happy every time! My husband in is love with the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich and I've the mac and cheese and their hotdogs and enjoyed everything. Our server was also warm, friendly and very patient with my 2 boys (ages 2 & 4)

Toronto foodie event that's worth the price?

I went to Toronto Taste last year as well and had a fantastic time. The food was good and the chefs were all very personable and seemed happy to talk. We also picked a few really good bottles of wine at the auction for amazing prices. Overall it was a very enjoyable night and my husband and I are really looking forward to it again this year..

HELP! Suggestions of awesome Italian or French restaurants in North York, Ontario, near Florence Street, please?

I would also recommend Alegno. It was a regular place for me and my husband when we lived in the area.

Options near Bloor & Kipling?

Hi Chowhounders,

My husband is going to be in the Bloor & Kipling area for work over the next few months. I told him I'd ask the experts for some good options for lunch or dinners that are close by.

Thanks for any help!

grocery store soups

I always enjoy the prepared soups from Summer Hill Market. Right now I've got a jar of the African Yam soup which is really nice on a cold afternoon.

Pineapple Queen - Thornhill

Anyone tried the new thai place that opened in Thornhill yet? Its in Thornhill Square where Oregano's used to be.

Oversize Toblerone...anybody?

I also saw them at the Shoppers on Yonge just north of Eglinton.

Most romantic high end restaraunt in Toronto

Love George! I actually went their this summer for my anniversary. Scaramouche is excellet as well and I think might be a little more intimate.

I might also recommed Auberge du Pommier for a cozy romantic meal.

Rotary Ribfests In Ontario - Who has the best ribs?

I agree with the Judge's Choice. Thirsty Cactus gave me the first rack of ribs that I actually enjoyed at any of the Ribfests this year!

special dinner...cant decide.

I agree with most of the posters here and can easily say Scaramouche is overall an amazing experience. I also recently had a fabulous dinner at George. My husband and I had the 5 course tasting menu with wine parings. No complaints at all - service and food were both impeccable.

Splendido- No!

So disappointing - Splendido was at the top of my list for my birthday dinner this year. I'll definitely reconsider now. Thanks for the warning.

Does anyone sell boxes of Larabars?

Costco in Thornhill (Woodbine & Hwy 7) have assorted boxes too. I can't remember the exact price, but they were actually on sale there a few days ago.

GTA resturaunts: Thornhill & Richmondhill area

My go to 'special occasion' restaurant in Thornhill is Terra. They are located at 8199 Yonge Street. Always good food and service. They also have a nice patio.

which restaurant in toronto should i take girlfriend for 2 year anni?

My husband took me for a lovely anniversary dinner this year at Scaramouche. We both agreed that it was a perfect night out.

Custom decorated cakes for kids

Hi everyone....I need help! My sons fourth birthday is in a couple of weeks and I would really like to get him a cake designed with a Batman theme. Location is no option....I'll drive pretty far to pick one up if i need to.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Any recs for Saturday lunch?

We have a few guests coming in from out of town and are looking to take them out for a nice lunch on Saturday. Any suggestions for something open in the downtown core? I'm pretty flexible on location - we'll be driving. In terms of cuisine we'd be looking for something fairly basic. Nothing ethnic like Indian or Chinese. I'd be open to either upscale or something casual.... good food is important though.

K-cups for Keurig Coffeemaker?

There are several stores in Toronto which sell k-cups but I find the selection pretty bad. I've seen them sold at Home Outfitters,Timothy's and Caynes. I order mine online - usually from Tweed & Hickory. I'm not the best person to comment on darker roasts - I usually buy flavored coffees but what I would suggest if you order online is creating a sample pack. You pay a little extra but instead of buying a whole box of a flavor that you're not sure of you can select individual flavours and then find your favorite.

Surprise, surprise! Honey's Beestro on Ave. Closed.

Its still open but I never see anyone inside. I doubt it will be for that much longer.

Origin now taking reservations

Awesome.....thanks for the info!!

Locating a Restaurant in the GTA where seats are swings

They definitely do have swings at Richtree....problem is the food is terrible!!

Couples cooking classes in Toronto?

I'll second the classes at Dish. Always an overall great night!

Where to buy a flavor injector in GTA

I picked up one from Caynes. I've used it a few times for turkey and once when I made a big pork shoulder.

Favourite Rose sparking wines and the TO restaurants that serve them?

I had a really nice glass at Scaramouche last month. I can't remember the name but I ordered by the glass.

Looking for japanese oranges

They had Satsuma oranges at the Summerhill Market today. I'm not sure of their pricing but they looked really nice!

Pam for Baking, anybody seen it lately?

I saw Pam for Baking at the Bayview & Laureleaf Longo's today.
