Taconic (sp?) diner just of Taconic Pkwy

Yes..good solid diner food. Good pancakes, homemade fries. We have not gone too far from the basics but always good and fresh. In the summer months there is a frozen custard stand outside. Old school interior, huge counter and all!

Savona in Scarsdale?

good call JPG0214. We went over the weekend for dinner and had an enjoyable meal.

We were greeted right away upon arriving and had a drink at the bar. The place was packed - people were eating and drinking at the bar which is a nice size. They had some homeade potato chips which were delicious. When we were seated our waiter came over took our drink orders and kind of disappered on us. The selection of wines were nice and well priced, just were very slow to come out. Once we didnt get our drinks , we asked and a manager came over and graciously ended up being our waiter-we never saw the original waiter again which worked out fine. The manager was gracious and knowledgable .

Food was good and its a nice menu, lots of choices. Gourmandizer- we too started with the tuna which was very good, the salad, a pizza , and artichokes.

The bread of the 3 choices all was super fresh and tasty. Entress and dessert didnt disappoint either. A few standouts were the striped bass, spaghetti and meatballs, risotto. The sides were great, our haystack potatoes came out cold but within a few minutes a fresh batch was hot and on the table.

Deesert was excellent...tiramusu, blueberry tart and panna cotta were standouts

I would certainly reccommend it and look forward to going back- maybe we'll sit out side next time in what looks like it will be nice outside seating. Not sure how they address the noise volume, but with a strong management they have in place i have no doubt the service kinks will get ironed out. Its casual and comfortable, good menu choices and great food...I hope they do well.

believe it or not, Mt Kisco Seafood carries pretzel rolls most of the time and they are very good, like all their bread.

hudson restaurant, briarcliff manor, ny

The worst I have experienced in a very long time!

hudson restaurant, briarcliff manor, ny

I was so looking forward to our dinner here and I could not have been more disappointed!Unfortunately our dinner experience was much like chicfille's. We had a 7:45 dinner reservation and although the restaurant was not filled, they pushed us to the outside area to have drinks. We were not seated until 8:05 and they did not pick up the drinks. The restaurant space was nice, but there was a large vacant area at the dead center of the space which is awkward. The menu is very small and no specials. Our waiter was extremely unattentive and not at all experienced,, verging on unprofessional and the evening from then on was awful. We had to ask for bread, which they served to one person, then said they would be back with more. They never came back, and after asking a few different times they brought more, which happily they did have, although everything was cut in half, so they must have been worried from the night before. We had to then ask if they had butter. We were not served our appetizer until well after 9, and although they were very good, after waiting that long with no one checking in on us , we were frustrated. Our entrees didn't arrive until after 10, appearing literally as we were telling them to forget about our meals. Dessert was a total let down. Although served in a timely manner they were not tasty at all. I fully anticipate and understand the bumps in a new restaurant opening a new restaurant but these were far more than acceptable "opening jitters". There were many other tables with the same experience. They tried to compensate with drinks, but when the bill came they were all on there. We won't be back . they really should not open for business unless they are able to handle it...Its too bad!

Savona and farmer and the fish

Ironically I had the opposite experience. When I called Savona, whomever answered the phone told me to call back after 12noon in a very curt tone. When I did call back, I did not get a good feeling at all. I felt they couldnt be bothered. I had the opposite experience on the phone with Farmer...friendly and happy to have us dine there. Maybe its just who we got on the other end but could not agree more that the 1st point of ntry to the restaurant need needs to be professional and welcoming!

Good news!!! Mt Kisco Farm is not closing after all!!!

that is great news
