Desperate for Recs for Business Trip Next Week

I'm taking leading a trip with five of my colleagues next week in Paris, and am desperate for recommendations for dinner on Thursday and Friday evenings. We're staying in the 1st, on a moderate per diem. Where should I take them??

Paris, July, near Place de Vosges

We had a fabulous meal at Chez Janou last week. I will certainly go back again. Amazing duck and lamb dishes, and I will dream of their chocolate mousse until my next trip to Paris!

What about Chez Georges on Rue du Mail? Has anyone tried it lately? Any last minute tips from the experts? Thanks, all! I'll report back upon my return!

So Cafe de Flore is off of the list! What would you rec'd for first meal in Paris? We are staying in the 7th, and would like something in that area.

I should add that the following are on my list of options: Josephine Chez Dumonet (concerned about getting a reservation since no website), Chez l'Ami Jean, Au Bon Accueil, Au Petit Tonneau, La Varangue, Le Comptoir and Rotisserie d'en Face. But obviously open to other suggestions, as well! Thanks again!

My husband, who has never been to France (but has otherwise traveled widely in Europe), and I are heading to Paris on Sunday. I've been to Paris and other parts of France many times and really appreciate fine French food. My husband really likes good bistro food (Bouchon and the like), but he's a casual guy who doesn't like stuffy restaurants or haute cuisine. I want him to love Paris and return with me often (we are newlyweds) in the years to come, so it's important for me to get this right. He loves Italy, but seems skeptical of France.

We're only in Paris for 2 1/2 days before heading off to Normandy, and this is my plan, as of now: Day 1 lunch at Cafe de Flore (since it's his first trip to Paris, I thought this might be a good intro for a croque monsieur or omelet?), dinner at La Fontaine de Mars. Day 2, lunch at Le Florimond and dinner picnic of market goodies on Champs de Mars at sunset. Day 3, lunch at Cafe Constant and dinner at Chez Janou.

We're on a budget, so the real gems of Paris are off limits to us on this trip. But next time.... if he falls in love with Paris as I have. I would be grateful for advice on where to dine on this quick, yet important, trip to Paris! Merci!

Potenza - authentic Italian in DC?

My husband and I will be celebrating our first anniversary in a couple of weeks, and want to dine at a restaurant that reminds us of our honeymoon in Italy. Has anyone tried Potenza, the new Italian restaurant on H Street downtown? I haven't been able to find many reviews...

New restaurant in DelRay?

So I finally got the scoop on this.... Pizzaiolo Cafe & Bar on Mt. Vernon Avenue in Alexandria opens this Saturday night - Nov. 1. I was at Del Merei Grill (next door) last night and popped in to find out, since the sign is up. The bar is already open at night, but they start serving food on Saturday. I can't wait to get one of their amazing pizzas right in my neighborhood. It looks like a cool space, too.

By the way, does anyone know when they're opening????

New restaurant in DelRay?

Awesome! Cafe Pizzaiolo has the best pizza in the DC region. I especially love their Neapolitan style 'za. That will be a great addition to the neighborhood, and an affordable option for a good weekly dinner out. I hope they do well!

New restaurant in DelRay?

Anyone from Del Ray know what's going on in the old Hector's Place (down from Del Merei Grill) on Mt. Vernon Avenue? I heard that a new restaurant is going in there, and it must be good to be opening during these tough economic times. Anyone have any intel???

Moved to Alexandria instead!

If you like Italian, you must try Cafe Pizzaiolo off Jeff Davis. It's on the corner of 23rd and S. Eads. They have the best authentic Neopolitan Pizza in the area, as well as some great pasta dishes. It's very reasonably priced and has become a weekly (at least) staple for us. They also deliver, and are one of the few places that also deliver wine and beer!
