Vegan & Omnivore - Food Help Needed
Need recommendations for a restaurant in Manhattan that can satisfy both a vegan and a meat eater. (I have yet to have a good exp with fake meat.)
Pref. not too $$$$.
Pref. below 59th Street, but willing to travel if it's worthwhile.
Thanks.
dinner for 2, $100 or under
Yes, food only. We don't tend to drink much alcohol at restaurants for some reason...
dinner for 2, $100 or under
Am looking for a nice place to have a birthday dinner on Friday eve.
Pref below 59th St. (and ideally somewhere in the vicinity of the the D,N, or R trains - ultimate destination for the night will be a b'day party in Park Slope).
No spicy food.
One of us is lactose intolerant (some dairy is ok, but we'd like a place with enough options for the lactard too).
Thanks
Good restaurant for a 2nd date?
How about Rue B? It had some interesting small plates, good drinks, and very cool photos all over the walls (will give you something to talk about in case there's a lag in conversation).

the birthday post
Thanks, Sounds interesting... couldn't tell whether they serve more than just beer.
the birthday post
I've just relocated to the NY area from new England (though I grew up here) and am in need of some guidance.
Am looking for a bar/lounge/restaurant to celebrate my upcoming milestone birthday with some friends and family (maybe 20 people total) on a Saturday night. Will probably be just drinks, at least for now. Nothing too $$$, just relaxed and conversation-level.
Thanks!
Dinner bet - where would you go?
Have to admit that Yasuda intrigues me - one of the owners of O Ya in Boston told me that she enjoys the sushi there.
Dinner bet - where would you go?
No budget! (He was a bit overconfident about winning.)
Dinner bet - where would you go?
I recently won a bet with a friend. He lost and now has to take me to dinner at any restaurant I desire in NYC. Having recently moved back to the metro area, I thought I'd ask my fellow chowhounds - what restaurant would you pick?
Where to find Pupusas?
Craving Salvadoran food, preferably in Rockland County ( but very northern Bergen county might be doable too).
Dining on Thanksgiving in the Finger Lakes
Think there's a place called Waterloo Inn, is right on the canal.
Need Recommendation for Rockland Bar/Restaurant to watch Election Returns
Have heard Casa Mia is big with Democrats
Rockland County cravings
Recently moved back to Rockland County. Am looking for good Vietnamese and Salvadoran food.

How can I be notified when someone replies to a thread I've started? I can't seem to figure out how to set this up. Thanks.

Clio Recommendations
I loved everything when I ate there. The cocktails with "smoke" were intriguing.
Bernard's - Chestnut Hill
I really enjoy the eggplant stuffed with shrimp app. Not a bad place for (not quite authentic) Chinese food.
Bar for small gathering
Age range = Mid 20's to mid 30's.
Food is less important than drinks. (I'm not a huge beer fan.)
Bar for small gathering
I've had good experiences at McCormick & Schmick's. Where is Fleming's?
Bar for small gathering
Am throwing a going away party. Not sure how many people yet, maybe 15-20. Am looking for a semi-upscale (but not too $$$) bar/restaurant to gather for drinks in Boston or Cambridge. No lines, no guest list b.s., no college students. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Drink opening tomorrow?
The website doesn't seem to work for me, all I get is a logo. Anyone else having that problem? (Or is the site just not finished yet?)
affordable group dining in Boston?
Am helping a friend find someplace for a group of 10-15 on Friday evening. Not too $$$$ (maybe no entree over $20), near T and/or parking. Some people eat "kosher-style" and a few are veggies. Any ideas?
Thanks!
