Best restaurants along route from Salt Lake City to Afton, WY

Just thought I'd give everyone a quick update...We ate at Thai Lotus. I thought the service was excellent, as everyone was very friendly, and our reserved table was ready an hour early (our flight came in early from the airport and we were all hungry). The place had a number of customers, but it wasn't packed. The servers/hostesses wore traditional Thai dress, and there was a woman playing the kim, which made for a very pleasant and somewhat authentic experience.

Our orders were taken promptly, and water was refilled frequently. We ordered the coconut shrimp, green papaya salad and Thai basil with chicken. I thought everything was pretty good...the coconut shrimp was probably the best excuted dish, as there was a nice, light coconut flavor and it was perfectly fried. Both the papaya salad and the Thai basil were decent, but not excellent. For dessert, we were served a complimentary warm custard that was very sweet, but a nice end to a spicy meal. We got the bill quickly, and the prices made the dinner extremely reasonable.

All in all, I thought this was a nice dining experience, and I would probably return if I lived in the SLC area.

The prices are very reasonable. We have reservations for tomorrow night so I will let you know how it goes when I return. Thanks again for all the help, and if any one has suggestions for specific dishes to try at Thai Lotus, please let me know!

Thanks for all the information! I think we will probably end up at Thai Lotus, which looks delicious, by the way. Any recommendations on menu items? How are the fish dishes?

Does anyone have any thoughts on Monsoon Thai? I read some good reviews. Since we will be flying in, it's not a problem to go someplace closwer to downtown SLC. Any opinions about Red Iguana?

Thank you for all the suggestions! I did find out that we are going to be taking a different route (I-80 through Evanston, WY) and one of the group members has requested Thai food. So, I'm thinking that pretty much limits our options to SLC.

I read several of the posts and even checked some other websites, but I have yet to read much of a consensus about the best Thai food. So far, I've come up with the following recommendations:
Thai Siam 1435 South State St.
Thai Garden 4410 S 900 East
Sawadee 754 East South Temple
Bangkok Thai: 1400 South Foothill Drive (801) 582-8424
Pawit's Royal Thai Cuisine on Murray-Holladay Road
Thai Chili Gardens - 430 W 800 N (Try the Musaman Curry once and you'll be back almost weekly to savor that lovely flavor.)
Monsoon Thai Bistro -1615 Foothill

Any thoughts on these places, or suggestions for a different Thai place? I should also mention that this will be a Friday night dinner for 4, so I am assuming we should make reservations.
