Usually I'm an upbeat sort of guy but we ate at the Bellagio Buffet ($35) on 4/15 and were disappointed.
There wasn't much of a line 8pm on a Monday. The dining room looked tired and dark. There was the usual array of buffet food (crab legs, prime rib, sushi, pizzas, salads, etc.). They are known for the king crab which is nice, but they somehow managed to suck all the crab flavor out of it and it was bland and watery. The prime rib was fine, but not much seasoning. I liked the homemade tacos and the sushi was ok. Pad Thai was bland. I didn't see much imagination or that there was any cooking going on, very ho hum.
On a previous visit we went to the the Wicked Spoon ($40) and it is much much better - exciting room, nice wine tasting selection. I liked the small plates that someone put some thought into (the short ribs were great). My companion loved the mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese bar.
I am working and living large in Marshfield. I ate at the El Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant last night. It wasn't bad at all. I had the enchilada platter with pork and it was nicely done, not overloaded with sloppy cheese, fresh tasting tortillas, nicely seasoned pork, and homemade tasting salsa. The atmosphere is casual, cafeteria style, bright, clean, and pleasant. It has the standard Tex-Mex sort of menu (enchiladas, chimichangas, burritos, tacos, flautas, nothing very exotic), but I'll be back.
