Doughnuts in Delaware!

I have tried the Donut Haven doughnuts from Booths Corner Farmers Market! Although I loved the farmers market and the doughnuts were indeed very good, I prefer the Pathmark doughnuts because they are slightly denser and sweeter. The Donut Haven runs a close second, depending on your personal doughnut predelictions!

Kent State dinner?

Hi all,

I will be in Streetsboro, OH for one day only (road trip!) and would like recommendations on interesting & reasonable places to eat. I plan to tour Kent State that day - not sure what else we'll be doing - so anywhere around the campus & between there and Streetsboro should suffice. My traveling companion doesn't do seafood or ethnic food. Thanks!!

Edgerton, WI suggestions?

Edgerton is very tiny. You may also want to look into restaurants in Lake Geneva, about 30 minutes east, which began life as a resort town for wealthy Chicagoans about a century ago and is still popular for getaways and day-trippers. I apologize that I don't have any specifics to offer.

Doughnuts in Delaware!

So sorry RC51Mike, I had no idea what or where Booths Corner was, but I looked it up just to make you happy. I am now looking forward to traveling there as soon as possible, and will let you know of my error if they surpass my grocery-store doughnuts. Stay tuned! ;)

Newark Delaware and environs

Decent food in Newark...well....that's a tough one. Homegrown is very popular, and I thought it was pretty good until I ordered a tuna steak that was cooked solid. I've never had a bad meal at Caffe Gelato, although people seem to think it's priced a little high. I was surprised to have an excellent burger at Kildare's - typical "Irish pub" atmosphere. (All of those restaurants are on Main St.) So far the best hoagie I have had has been at Rudy's Italian Bistro, in a new-ish strip mall down 896.

Great cakes in Madison WI

Craig's in Verona (10 minutes from Madison). Best. cake. ever. Scott's, which is actually in Madison, is also popular.

Doughnuts in Delaware!

Just in case anyone else is interested, I've completed what seems to be an exhausted doughnut search of the Newark area:

Serpe's - one of the doughnuts from here was excellent, but the rest were a little dry
Bing's - right consistency, but oddly flavorless

and even

Acme - no

and the winner is

Pathmark! Their doughnuts had the flavor and consistency I was looking for. Was not really expecting to find it at a grocery store, but I was getting desperate.

I think I'll lay off the doughnuts for a while now...

Doughnuts in Delaware!

Where, oh where, can I find a good doughnut in northern/New Castle Co. Delaware? I don't like the Krispy Kreme style (crispy) - I prefer a decent cake doughnut, and of course Dunkin' Donuts is a travesty!

Thanks in advance for any help!
