A new snack food addiction (as if I don't have enough)... Thanks I don't have those stores around me either. I just ordered some Herr's PB filled Pretzels from Amazon. That should hold me for a while. |

I had some terrible teeth problem as a teen until 2003 and I was in so much pain and had dentist appt eery week almost during my whole time in college. Like going to class in the morning then having root canals in the afternoon and just having to lay down after while bleeding in guaze pads while the numbness and pain meds wore off. I had enough and got every single tooth pulled. I cannot eat raw vegetables any more so I am starting to love Green Smoothies I can get the raw veggie and greens goodness especially kale, and fruit in a way I can digest it. I love alot of types of fruit but my favorite is Blueberries and they are soo good for you. |

I was there for a Kenny Chesney concert there 2 years ago. Before the concert my mom had a hot dog and liked it I just had Nacho's during a intermission between singers I found out that was Quaker Steak and Lube was there but all the way near the bottom so I had to run down the circular ramp to get to the Wings. We got a bucket of wings and they were very good. The best thing there. Just get the wings first if you are up in the top top or you may miss alot walking and waiting for your wings. |

Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman, gets her own show I like Ree and I check her blog once a week, I will be watching her show if I can but I know a pretty well known Blogger that so deserves to have her own show and did apply to be one of the shows on Oprah's network but did not make it. Listen Food Network or Cooking Channel or any other network that would have a food/health show, Please give Shauna Ahern aka Gluten Free Girl the attention and TV show she deserves. |

What are you baking these days? July 2011 [old] So the brownies are out of the oven I hope they come out well. The batter in the double boiler look bad I had a little less cocoa than I needed so I put the chopped up chocolate bar in to melt with the butter and cocoa and sugar. Also I only had half the amount of sugar needed so I subsituted with demitara sugar which in hindsight I should have looked for brown sugar or something but once the eggs and flour went in it looked better. Then I put the pecans on and swirled some already made caramel. It took more like 45 minutes till the toothpick came out clean. Now a banana cake is in the oven the recipe for the cake is what I use all the time to use up browning bananas. |

What are you baking these days? July 2011 [old] Thanks I do think I will chop up the chocolate into the batter I just needed a batter that does not require melting chocolate just cocoa powder. The chocolate bar is only 3 oz so it would be there for a bit of extra flavor and crunch but not to add all the chocolatyness in the batter. So I am just going to use the Best Cocoa Brownies from Medrich, because I like Pecans and the candy like top crust like the recipe describes. |

What are you baking these days? July 2011 [old] I need a Brownie recipe or in a pinch a chocolate cookie or chocolate chip cookie for a party on Friday. I cannot get to the store before then and the only chocolate I have is cocoa powder and 1 bar of Scharfinberger Chocolate bar with cocoa nibs. Can I make something great with these. Also prefer cakey over fudgey brownies |

What makes pancakes light/fluffy? Something I do that to me makes my pancakes thicker and puffier is to use a small skillet the size you want your pancakes to be. The pancake will rise up the side. Only downside is you can only do one at a time. |

Also getting ready for a yard sale and making a hidden flag cake for a picnic im going to on Saturday. What do you think are the best parts (tasting and texture) of a goose, a duck, and a chicken? Crispy skin oh yes! Hmm I like chicken leg quarters which has the leg and thigh connected an now that its barbecue season I could eat those smoked with a thin layer of barbecue sauce. But if I have a whole roasted chicken before saving the bones for stock I break off the back bones and suck on them. Yum! Oh and turkey wings are great to. But I never had goose or duck. |

I bought this pan last week at a Salvation Army store and thought it looked so much like a pop over pan except it has rounded bottoms. I want to try and make popovers. But could this be more like a pancake puff or Aebleskiver Pan that would be baked instead of cooked on a stove top. I just want to figure out what this is and I can start using it. |

I will be defrosting our large standing freezer and I have a bunch of gallon size bags of sliced peaches that I need to do something with it or toss out. I don't know if we used the right way to freeze peaches we slipped them in boiling water a second or two then put them in ice water. Then we slipped the skins off and sliced them. We placed in freezer bags and filled with some sugar syrup to cover and then froze. I tried to do a few things with them but they do not keep their shape and I was wondering if we thaw and drain what I can do with a bunch of peaches. |

I used the 2 sticks of butter and it turned out wonderful. I will use that recipe again for sure. |

I am making lemon cupcakes with a Strawberry lemon curd filling and want to frost them with a strawberry frosting. I had a recipe I was going to use but since these will be in a basket and will be sitting out for a few hours and the recipe was to use cream cheese but since that needs refrigeration I do not know if the other version of the recipe with just butter will work or is their a great butter cream icing recipe I can make. I already have 1/4 cup strawberry puree with a it of lemon juice along with some finely chopped pieces of strawberries. I want to use this mixture in the frosting to make it have a great strawberry flavor with real chunks of strawberries. The original recipe is ... So would this recipe work with just the butter or do I need a whole other recipe. |

"Don't Open That Bag!!!".....because I'll eat the whole thing. That is odd. It is sold in a clear bag and I have only seen it at this one Amish store in Boswell PA on Route 30. Anyway I will take a pic of the contents and the bag tomorrow but it is defiantly not any of those on the website. Edit: I did a search for them though and found it. It still is a different type of bag but this is definatly the Cocktail mix I was talking about. |

"Don't Open That Bag!!!".....because I'll eat the whole thing. Has anyone ever tried a bag of puffed onion, potato, and bacon flavored mix called Cocktail mix I'm snacking on that right now and they are really good. They are Kosher, Lower fat, no preservatives, trans fats, or genetically modified ingredients. I bought them at a Amish store. Its made by The Mediterranean Snack food co. |

What cookies are you baking for Christmas this year? Yes I used Martha Stewart's recipe. They are very tasty but crumble and fall apart very easy and I had to roll the in the Powdered sugar instead of tossing them around in a bag. But decided to make Walnut Horns |

I love Canolli Fillings with a sweetened ricotta but not so big on the crispy shell and I have about 14 oz of leftover Ricotta from making stuffed shells last night and would love to make it into something sweet. |

What cookies are you baking for Christmas this year? We have our favorites here and since I make cookies for my dad, my mom, my aunt and her two kids, and some for me I try to make 1 favorite cookies each. My dad's is Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies, my mom and my aunts favorite are Mexican Wedding Cookies, and my favorite are Walnut Pillow cookies. I used to do a bunch of Rolled Sugar Cookies but I hate all that rolling out and all the time it takes. I want to do a Ginger/Spice Cookie maybe rolled in raw sugar. And maybe one more maybe a bar cookie I need ideas for that though. Then I always make a bunch of Peppermint Bark and buy fancy cellophane bags with snowflakes or candy canes on them and pop the bark in them ad the rest of the cookies for my aunt goes in nice cookie tins lined with wax paper. And the Mexican wedding cookies go in bigger bags they have a festive holiday theme also but are more like paper bags that each person can have their own and keeps the powdered sugar at bay. |
