Trying to find some Québécois items in Calgary!
They serve creton at Cora's. I had it when I was in Montreal and loved it. I now have it every time we go for breakfast at Cora's. However I have not seen it in a store before.
Alloy in Calgary
I can see that overall you did not enjoy your experience at Alloy, but some of your complaints are pretty petty. Seriously because the host/hostess sat you while she held your coat that bugs you? And a server dropping off menus irritates you (I agree that bringing all menus at once would be preferred, but it would not turn me off to the point that I made a comment on it, its better than the server not coming by at all which is what we just experienced at Rush). Also I fail to see how eating in a cocktail dress is any different then any attire.
You are definitely allowed your opinion but some of the things you are complaining about seem very trivial.
Edmonton b-day dinner?
Hi guys, my wife will be running the Edmonton marathon on August 16 and we are going to be coming up there from Calgary. .Her 30th b-day is on the 18th and so I was planning on taking her out for a birthday dinner on the Friday night. I would like to know if there are any restaurant recomendations in Edmonton as it has been awhile since I have been there. Some of our favorite restaurants in Calgary are Muse, Alloy and Brava Bistro, so looking for something along those lines. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.
Dining in Banff
Banff Springs for a week hey, very nice. Cafe Soleil is a tapas place that has excellent food. I beleive they also have regular size plates as well (if you are not into tapas) the tenderloin with gorgonzola sauce is so good.
Miami dining?
True Miami is big. We are staying at the Richmond hotel on Collins Ave.
Miami dining?
My wife and I will be in Miami at the end of the month and we were wondering if there were any 'must eats' there that we should look into?
best steak in calgary
You do realize that when you are paying $50 for a steak you are also paying for the ambience, service etc. Your argument seems to be that you can save money by cooking something at home, well of course you can. Or are you trying to argue that you can go to an Earl's or something and get a $25 steak that would be as good as the $50 steak? You are very poor at getting your point across (other than saying we are suckers).
what's up with the new 'V' in Bankers Hall
It used to be Fuel (by Earl's) and now I see that it has been changed to V. Is it a restaurant or a lounge (like Fuel was). Is it still associated with Earl's? Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it?
