I notice that most but not all shrimp ceviche recipes call for poaching the shrimp. Why is that? I'm assuming there's no health problem. Is it presentation, psychology or taste? |

I'd recommend. New- Daishi Sort of fusion but good. Knob Hill Inn- tried and true. Sold this spring but the kitchen is still excellent and good ambience. Cornerstone- Food good but very noisy. Two old standbys the never change. 1. Grumpy's for a burger and of course The Pioneer Saloon still great after 40some years. ----- |

I'd like to put in a vote for what many think is Charleston's finest restaurant. It's McCrady's and well within your range. The chef-owner has recently opened Husk which is on your list but I think McCradys has a wider and more adventuresome menu. All that and a building where George Washington reputedly dined. (We haven't seen him there.) ----- |

Restaurants in Kuala Lumpur Sentral Area I'll be in KL for 4 days in January. Are there any good restaurants in the Sentral area where I'll be staying? I intend to hit the malls later but hate to go too far when I first get into town. |

Got here just in time for your Northeaster. Is there a good restaurant near Portsmouth, NH where we can have good lobster (hard to mess that up) in really nice surroundings. When it's raining cats and dogs a clam shack won't cut it. Appreciate the input.. Idaho Guy |

Just back from Buenos Aires. La Vineria de Gauterio Bolivar is just as terrific as reported. To give you an idea of the complexity of their ingredients one of the small items in one of the 14 courses (the salad) looked like a red BB-sized caviar. It turned out to be barely germinated beets. Wonderful place great inventive food and good value for what you receive. Don't miss it. |

We'll be spending three days in SLC this weekend. Haven't been there in a while and would love input on the best restaurants. Price and location are not important. |
