The Grappolo space in Chappaqua...
So happy to hear this. We miss Deer Park Tavern (it was our neighborhood place) and even though it won't be the neighborhood place anymore, we will go down to Chappaqua. Deer Park used to do the 1/2 price wine list as well and it was great. Even better that you can take home the leftovers!
What's good in Tarrytown these days?
Not really. I hated the service. My food was good, husband's steak was not good. Service was awful, rushed.
Food Network Star
Michelle does look familiar. I feel like I've seen her on another cooking competition.
Iconic NYC Restaurants?
It did not start out a chain. It was one great steakhouse that became a chain. Kind of like Il Mulino.............
Cerbone of Naples, White Plains
So I just looked at the menu on line and their scarpariello is boneless. That is not scarpariello. Do they make it bone in on special order?
Cerbone of Naples, White Plains
I probably won't go for dinner as we live above Katonah. But I work in White Plains so maybe lunch. I'll definitely post when I go.
Cerbone of Naples, White Plains
Only way to have chicken scarpariello is on the bone!! Sounds good!
Rome: Hostaria Romano or Nino
I ate at Nino my first night in Rome. I loved it. Especially the anitpasto.
Great evening at Modern Barn in Armonk
Ok, maybe North is worth another shot. Last time I was so utterly disappointed though......
When the poster really hates where you referred them.. [moved from General Topics]
I find I kind of get to know, after years on Chowhound, who does know food, or even have the same likes as I do. There also needs to be a lot of good feedback, or bad, to make me want to try/not try a place. Still, I have tried some places with great feedback and been totally disgusted... can you say Fig and Olive?
Restaurant w/ Private Room for 20-25 Northern Westchester
121 in North Salem has a private room downstairs. Something for everyone there.
Emile Henri pizza stone - opinions?
I have one but I've never cut on it because I leave it in the oven until it cools down which is sometimes overnight. I do cut on my cool pizza peel though. That is great!
City Limits Diner, White Plains
Love it. I'll have to make it down there for old time's sake!
City Limits Diner, White Plains
The Fountain - is that the diner in Hartsdale next to Chef Central? When I was a kid that had another name and was my favorite diner.
New York area deli style potato salad
I always had potato salad with onion, not onion powder. Both kinds. NYC and Whitestone.
New farm-to-table in Purdy's to open
My neighbor went last week and was underwhelmed. Service was awful and food just ok.
hudson restaurant, briarcliff manor, ny
Wow, these are some of the worst things I have heard about any new restaurant opening. This seems to go way passed "glitches."
Chopped All-Stars, Part 2, 04/15/12 (SPOILER!)
They don't have a chance against Symon!
Savona and farmer and the fish
Looks like it depends who answers the phone!! Not a good sign for either place.
Good news!!! Mt Kisco Farm is not closing after all!!!
I was just there and asked if they found new space and the owner told me they renewed their lease - must have come to some terms with the landlord. They are staying open!!!!!!!
Polpettina homestyle pizza kitchen (Fisher Ave. Eastchester) this is so much more than just pizza...
I'm confused by this too. Is it maybe that the garlic is not overwhelming? I've never heard of a red sauce without garlic either.
Chopped All-Stars, Part 2, 04/15/12 (SPOILER!)
I was very impressed with Jeffrey's creativity, cooking chops and personality. I did like him on NFNS.
Historic Erie, PA PIZZA SHOPS
I think you'd be better off posting this on the PA board.
Diners in Armonk, Briarcliff, Chappaqua, Mt. Kisco, Mt. Pleasant, and Pleasantville?
That place is long gone. And it was a great spot for breakfast. They closed several years ago and were taken over by another place that was just awful. If you ordered a salad for lunch you got a store made dressing in a single serve package like a jelly. Awful.
BGR Mount Kisco
Unfortunately it sounds like the wait staff doesn't care. if they did they would have made sure your fries were done right. My husband went there for lunch with a friend the other day and was underwhelmed for $30!
BGR Mount Kisco
I think burgers are like pizza - everyone has their own opinion about what makes a good one. Personally don't care for Blazer burgers, but some love it. I guess that's what makes the world go round!
