Best Pizza in Rome, Italy. Any advise?

Dar Poeta,Trastevere...Been there last year...Nice pizza,good people.

I need new bistros in Paris

L' Ami jean....terrific food and not so touristy..Try it!
Le gaigne...Amazing hidden Marais bistrot...its young chef worked long time at Pierre Gaignare's GAIA.
Very good price /quality relationship at both places.

Le Comptoir du relais- Paris

Hi everybody!

I'm coming back to Paris this year, and was really looking forward to try this Yves Camdeborde's restaurant,but.....
I 've been reading some not-so-good reviews recently...Is it true?Is this bistrot still really deserve a visit?

Thanks

I guess I'll have to open my wallet up a litlle bit....Based on your information,I already sent a booking e-mail to Comerc24.
Another question...Is the bairro Gotico safe to go at night?I am thinking to dine in some traditional tapas bar there...

See my post just below .... : )

Rome report- just back

First of all,we'd like to thank you all for your advise, ideas and directions. You really help us to made our first-time Rome visit just great.
As always stated here, we can repeat: Eating in Rome is really a pleasure.Of course, you can eat bad,but with a little research, and a little bit of good sense,it's very difficult to happpen.
Places we had been(For address google it):

-Osteria Dello Angelo-- "mangia o no mangia 25 euro"

Nice place,a lot of rugby stuff (the owner used to be a pro player). There, you can dine at 25 euro, fixed price.Menu depends on the day,but it's mainly trattoria classic food. However, pasta is very homey, and perfecta al dente.Caccio e peppe e matriciana are amazing.
Biscouto and vini santi as a dessert.
Bill: 65 euro

-Trattoria Monti
Unfortunately was closed the weekend we'd want it.

-Piccolo Abruzzo

It was a sunday ,and I forgot to call for a reservation,so we decided to take our chances and went there. It looked as it was closed, but when we open the door, voilá.Alot of people inside, italians, there was even a huge family table.
Since I was thristy by the walk,a swallowed a big bottle of Peroni.Home Antipasti is huge, 03 kinds salamii (all you can eat),prosciutto, jamon, bruschetta, bread,e so forth.Everything from Abruzzo.Tons od food.Amazing.
Primo piatoo:matricana, caccio and peppe, alla arabiata and carbonara(yes, we ate 02 primo piatto each).
Secondi I ate myself a bistecca tagliatta very good too.
No dessert,thanks. : )
Bill: 80 euro,with house wine(good) and 02 Peroni.

-Ottoemezzo -- www.ottoemezzoroma.it

New place, near via veneto.
Fancy place, and very nice food too.
We ate our best pesto ever there(Paccheri di gragnano al pesto con ragout di maialino picante),veery smooth and tasy. The ragout made a terrific contrast in this dish too.
02 pasta dishhes plus a bruschetta di capessante alla griglia and 02 chianti glasses made
a 60 euro bill.Very good.

-Enoteca ferrara(trastevere-piazza trilussa)
Amazing place.Actulally we intended to dine, but we once got started on the wine bar,and glasses after glasses , with very good antipasti buffet,we fill our stomachs out.
They have a fine cuisine there, awarded several times.Next time.
Bill: 50 euro

-Dar poeta
Although we have seen some minus reviews of this place,we went there to take our chances. It was raining a lot,and we were close to it.
It's a very good relation price-quality.Nice Bruschettas and pizza(not romana,not napolitana,dar poeta-SIC),very filling and tasty.
Bill: 45 euro

-La piazzeta(near colosseum)
Average food, not bad,but not remarkable.Since we didn't want to go far from the ruins ,I think it worth it.Maybe someone could try Osteria Nerone on the surroundings, and give some thoughts. We were tired of walking ,and closer to Piazzeta, and the lazyness spokes louder.
Bill: 55 euro

-MUST EAT GELATOS: San cripino(I like fruit flavors--- lemon and tangerine are great) and Giolliti(better)--chocolatto and lemoncello...hummmmmm

Thanks again, and we're looking forward travelling abroad again with CHOW's foodies tips!

Colosseum-Rome-Where to eat

Thanks everybody so far!
PeggyD: Certanly i'' check La piazzetta out...
Raspano:Are you certain of teh "II scopetarro" spelling.I've googled it ang found nothing.

Anyone knows anything about "La Taverna del foro imperiali"?Worth it a visit too?

Colosseum-Rome-Where to eat

As a first-time Rome visitor, I'm looking for a nice place for wine-refreshing,get some rest and eat well, around the colosseum.

It doesn't need to be fancy or upscale.Just good.

Any thoughts?

Roman Memories--Long

Wonderful feedback,rneeno.
I'm gonna spend 05 days in Rome,as my honeymoon too(or sort of),in a cuple of weeks.
I've been doing the same research here and abroad throghout the internet as well.
Your report was pretty important to me,because of its imparciality.I was raised in a very touristy city in my country, and, as local, I always knew that thing you wrote:"the less, the better".
In such massive visited places, good food aren't everywhere ,nor has to have high prices.
Sometimes we went to hidden, ugly places, just for food(the best food).
Antico arco and Monti are(and was) on my top list too.Piccolo Abruzzo too. They look like my kind of resto.
Anyway, thanks again, and all the best for you two!!

Olive Oil with Bread

Italian or not, politically correct or not----->>>>I really like it.
I eat tons of it regularly.
Why should we change it in Italy?Just to not look like a tourist?
Gimme a break. No matter what we do,we always gonna be tourists outside home. And we are that.Fact.

PS. I'm not American.

Just back from Rome...long

Good feedback,PDBF.
I'm gonna spend 06 days in Rome in a couple of weeks.
I was pretty certain of trying Al Ceppo...not anymore.I found more minus than plus of this place so far.
And what about Testaccio area?have you trried or heard of something good there?
Wine bars?

thanks
