Cooking Classes in Paris
My husband and I took the Cook'n with Class class last December and it was one of the highlights of our trip. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Paris and signing up for another class!
Deux Magots, the Cafe Flore and the Brasserie Lipp
Thanks Phil, that's exactly what we needed to know.
Deux Magots, the Cafe Flore and the Brasserie Lipp
We will be in Paris in May and staying in the 6th. Are any of these worth our time for a quick bite? Is one better than the other ?
Thanks

Paris: looking for restaurant open on Sunday (Rue Cler/Orsay area)
We have just returned from Paris and found ourselves in the same Sunday night predicament as you while there. We stayed in the 7th and found a lovely place for dinner called Bistro de Breteuil just down the street from Invalides. I actually found out about it on Chowhound!

Best Chocolate in Paris?
We are just back from Paris and loved finding Bernachon chocolate at madame Denises little shop in the 9th called L'Etoile d'Or. She also carries Le Roux's salted butter caramels.......simply wonderful!
Sunday dinner in the 6th or 7th
Looking for suggestions. I've noticed that a lot of the better restaurants are closed on Sunday.
We'd like to have a nice meal, reasonably priced Sunday evening, please help.
Thanks, Liz
Morning meal in the 7th
Looking for morning meal suggestions upon arrival from an all night flight from the States. We usually drop our bags off at the hotel and head out for an omelette or something. This is our first time staying in the 7th, corner of Ave. Duquesne & Ave. de Lowendal. It's been 3 years since we've strolled thru that area and I remember a lot of little cafes but nothing stands out in my mind. Any good ideas?
Paris - Unique, memorable, and not wildly expensive?
Souphie, how is Padova by the way? Is it a place that my Italian husband would like while in Paris? He's not picky or anything I'm just keeping my eyes and ears open for good Italian food in Paris in case he has some sort of breakdown or withdrawals or something.....
when ordering fish....
But Theresa, it should be filleted before it's cooked right?
Maybe I'll just stick to duck & chicken : )
when ordering fish....
When one order's fish in the U.S. 95% of the time it is brought out as a fillet. In Paris this wasn't the case for me, in fact each time I've had the pleasure to be there, my fish always arrives with head, tail, and everything in between. Is filleting fish just not a common practice in restaurants? I realize that it is a way of displaying the freshness of the fish to the customer but how does one ask to have their fish filleted or should I not ask because is it just bad manners? !
I'll apologize in advance for sounding naive.
Cook'n With Class- Cooking Classes in Montmartre
can't wait! My husband & I are signed up for the morning cooking class in December. I'll be sure to report back, that is IF I come back
Third/Fourth Week Dining Report Paris
Delucacheesemonger , does your report describe dinner or lunch at Le Cinq? I assume by the cost that it was lunch.......
Fun read for the flight over
If you love France and food, you'll enjoy this book. Titled " The Sharper your Knife, The Less you Cry" by Kathleen Flinn. True story tells of a London-based middle management exec who gets laid off and decides to pursue her dream.....pack up, move to Paris and attend Le Cordon Bleu. Very enjoyable and an easy read on your next flight to Paris!
Racines on Passage des Panoramas
Thanks so much for your comments. I think we'll definitely visit the passages but pass on Racines ; )
Racines on Passage des Panoramas
Can anyone comment on this wine bar? Also, what is this place ' Passage des Panoramas' all about?
Alain Ducasse au Plaza-Athenee
I was just curious what the < ballpark > cost would be to share dinner for two with wine at this restaurant.
Would Ledoyen be similar in price?
Italian restos in Paris
I know your all probably thinking "oh mon Dieu !! "
But.....and this is a big but < lol > I'm married to an Italian and I know for a fact that at some point in our week long visit he will need a ' fix.' Not looking for pizza but the kind of food found on mama's sicilian table!
Grazie et Merci !
Christmastime in Paris
The actual dates of our stay will be Dec. 12-18, hopefully businesses & restos won't be closed yet for the holiday. I was also wondering if there were any Christmas markets we shouldn't miss. I'd like to bring home unique parisien Christmasy gifts rather than the usual touristy stuff....which I won't do ; )
Christmastime in Paris
We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary in the 7th arrondissement in December Brrrrrr!! This will be our 5th visit to the City of Lights but our first time to stay in this area. Any suggestions on restaurants in the area. Also, we'd like to have a memorable dinner on our actual anniversary night but I can't see spending a fortune when there are so many good places that don't cost a fortune....does that make sense? !
I'd hope that one could spend $300-$400 max < with wine> and have an incredible meal. Any ideas?
