Food Scars - Things you will never eat again.

Quail! My first husband cooked for me in an effort to impress. The tiny golden birds were absolutely raw on the inside, barely even warm. ( a feat considering the small size of the quail!) Can't even look at them now.

Thai Fire Peppers - Help!

Spent the day canning some mango - thai fire pepper hot sauce (very, very hot - but delicious!) My hands are on fire and I'm trying everything for them. Soaking them in ice water while having a tequila seems to help.

I'm wondering though if I can save my cutting board? Scrubbed several times but the last slice of lemon I cut (for the tequila) was still hot.

need a new lamb chop recipe, one that doesn't involve herbes de provence, dijon, rosemary, marjoram, oregano, lemon and/or thyme...

I marinate them in balsamic vinegar, grated russian garlic, honey and a little olive oil and then grill them. I know u said no rosemary, but chopped fresh leaves added in are great.

What Did/Does Your Dad Cook Best?

I still fry chicken in the cast iron fryer left to me by my Dad (it was his mother's before that). It will go to my daughter (a professional chef) when my frying days are done.

What Did/Does Your Dad Cook Best?

Jambalaya..... we were the only southern transplants in an Italian-Canadian neighbourhood. When Dad got that Jamabalaya going he had made converts of all our neighbours, who finally had to admit that Italians weren't the only ones that could cook!

Coffee + Salt

I've been adding salt to the grounds since I was old enough to drink coffee. Never tried it in the actual brew though.

Calgary,Palomino Smokehouse and Social Club?

Lunch is a mostly business clientele, but I've found the food hit and miss. I'm a southerner who loves my barbecue and the first time I went the pulled pork was good (not great) and it's been downhill since (yesterdays 'cue, barely reheated) Ohhhh and don't even call those grits.... awful.
