Central Market carries the Sabrett's dogs and mustard, If someone hasn't told you yet. If they don't have it at your Central Marcket ask them for it.

Okay so on my trip I went to this Hole in the Wall place called DOWN TO THE BONE. Tiny little dine in or tack out sould food.....OH MY GOD the best Fried chicken I have ever had. Great seasoning in the batter. Good sides, but the hours a a bit short

birthday/valentines dinner-suggestions?

I know it must have been a while for your visit. That place has gone really down. The food, the service, and the SMELL....Stay away.

Well depends on the price range, you can go BYOB and go to a little italian restaurant in carrollton called Roma's food is cheaper, just decent, but BYOB can make the night a lot of fun. Maggianos can feed an army without batting an eyelash and you will still get a doggie bag! And upscale you could do Tre amici steak and seafood with an italian flare, but the price tag could break you. Good luck! oh, and Happy birthday!

okay tonight I went to Mert's is was very good. I really enjoyed the cornbread baked fresh with their butter, MMMMMMM!!!!
The chicken was good, but the breadding lacked some flavor and fell a little flat for me, though the combination with the short ribs, the Ribs were sweet and succulent; I had those with the collard greens(a first time for me). Greens were very good, Mac and cheese was authentic homemade, and the grits with More butter were very good. I ran out of room, but thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the recommendation. I want to try either Ratcliff or Blue next.

Hey all I have to go to Charlotte, NC for work, need some nice restaurants something local? something cheap? something pricey? I have never been to the EAST coast and I want an experience, might as well enjoy eating on the company dime!

Best jacket required in D/FW?

It looks like from your previous visits you may be looking for a steak type meal or atleast something more full filling. If I were a texas man coming home from oversees for I would want something hearty. I have not been to the places listed below so I have no idea of the quality though I am sure they are great; I would recommend Abacus in Mckinney Ave. Area or Dallas(chef Kent Rathbun) great food from past experience upscale or I have always had ga ga eyes for Del Friscos in North dallas off Tollway and spring valley. Not sure how upscale, but have been around as long or longer than anything you listed above and a steak restaurant. I hope you havea great time, and you will because he is there whether the dining is fine or casual; who cares as long as it is good! Tell him thanks. Let us know what you picked and what you both thought.

DFW - Chocolate Cake? Petit Fours?

I have used steins and they are good, and we gave them about a weeks notice. They are very friendly and have been in around a long time, claim to be the oldest bakery in Dallas!
