Help me find baking (half sheet) pans that do not warp

I have used it at high temperatures. I use it for everything, including roasting vegetables. I don't even remember what I was cooking when it warped. I do like the goldtouch though. My kids like breadsticks a lot and I love the texture I get when I make them on those pans.

I posted this somewhere else just a minute ago, but wanted you to know that I have some goldtouch and it did warp.

Fruit Salad Ideas

Ina Garten's fruit salad with limoncello is really good. You macerate berries in limoncello and sugar and dress with Greek yogurt, honey and lemon curd. The recipe calls for bananas, but I leave them out.

Do Americans Go Out for Pizza Anymore?

My kids' school does that Pizza Hut program too and like yours my kids are voracious readers. It's the worst! Only my kindergartener's class did it last year so then I'd have to buy the awful pizza for my other two kids and then figure out something edible for the husband and I. I'd have rather have just bought the whole family a good pizza in the first place.

Favorite uses for your Mandolin?

My parents owned a deli when I was growing up. I think everyone who ever worked there lost a fingertip (or two) to the electric slicer, including me. We didn't charge extra if your sandwich had a little something special.

I need help ! extremely picky eater & basically wont eat anything !

My little boy who is the same age is 47 inches tall. Most waterslides and a lot of amusement park rides have a minimum height of 48 inches. I keep telling him he needs to eat a lot of fruits and veggies so he can grow big enough to do the big kid stuff.

Oven Barbequed chicken

The last time I made it, I seared it on the skin side, flipped it up, roasted it until about halfway done, and then started basting it. maybe next time I go closer to done and just slather. Thank you, I'll try it that way next time.

Oven Barbequed chicken

Yes, semantics police, that's an oxymoron. But you know what I mean and please help me make it better. I just can't seem to get my sauce sticky enough. Do you crisp the chicken first in a skillet? What temp do you use? When do you baste? Do I need to add some butter? Maybe you remove the skin? Help me please!

Pasteurized milk in IN?--Indy, Anderson, Muncie, Ft. Wayne

You might try Oberweis. If you go to their website, it looks to be pretty available. I know this isn't really helpful, but a friend of mine on the west side used to use a milk delivery service that was organic and well priced. I don't believe it was one of the big operations, but I haven't been able to find any information on it.

Too many strawberries.

I puréed a bunch with a bit of sugar and lemon juice. I froze the purée in snack sized baggies which I then put in a freezer bag. I like to add a baggie to my breakfast yogurt.

Things you want to bake

I don't remember what I was originally making now, but whatever it was, it didn't turn out (last Christmas). In last minute desperation, I made a tart shell, poured on a jar of Trader Joe's salted caramel sauce, then ganache and sprinkled it with chopped almonds. It was soooooo good.

What are you baking these days? May 2012 [old]

Not exactly baking, but we spent the afternoon picking strawberries, so I made jam today. And then I threw a loaf of bread in the bread machine to be ready for breakfast. Tomorrow will be a strawberry tart and strawberry turnovers.

I'm jealous - my son asked me to make some cookies for his class's last day party, but his school has a no homemade baked goods policy.

Is not tipping illegal?

Just because they put it in writing, it's true? I think not. Think gravel trucks that have a "not responsible for broken windshield" or any establishment that displays a "not responsible for accidents". Both in fact are responsible. I guess they just think maybe you're dumb enough to believe them and not sue if they cause you harm.

What foods do you refuse to eat?

When my oldest child was 2, he ran out of our office where he was unsupervised on the computer ( yes, I'm an awful parent) and said, "Soylent Green is people!". To this day, I have no idea what he was doing in there.

Teaching chow pups moderation

One of my pups is a chip off the old chow block. He spends a great deal of time thinking about what he'll be eating next. He likes to cook and bake with me and even reads cookbooks and food magazines. He's actually brought me recipes on several occasions that he wants to try. In a lot of ways, this is really great, but how do you teach moderation without creating food "issues". He's a lot like my mom was at the same age (he's 5) and my grandmother turned her into a fat kid probably in part by making an issue of everything she ate. He ice skates and spends a lot of time outdoors, so activity isn't an issue, but it wasn't with her either. Any words of wisdom?

Angel food cake

Not an answer to your question, but I remember my grandmother stopping when we were in the neighboring town to buy Hospitality brand angel food cake mix. She said it was good, but that no other brand was. And most things she baked from scratch. She gave me one too. I remember liking it, but that was before I baked a lot. But I like my angel food cake plain served with either strawberries or orange sherbet.

How horrible/helpful would it be to warn a restaurant in advance

Is your mother in law an attorney? I think I used to work for her. That said, I'm in the call-ahead and get a private room camp. There's a young waiter out there somewhere who'll be telling his friends over drinks, "you won't believe the crazy bitch I waited on tonight. I got a fat tip though."

Is there a scientist in the house?

His project doesn't really have a due date since it's not for credit, but the science fair is Wednesday. I got him the McGee book at the library, and he found and read the curdling information, but I think too much more will be over his head. (not because he's not smart enough - he is, but science isn't on the standardize tests, so they don't teach a lot of it to second graders. So he doesn't really have a lot of background knowledge). I'm beginning to see why second graders don't generally contribute to the science fair. But I do like your idea. I may get him some litmus paper to experiment with over the summer.
