If you like game, I highly recommend the Rim Rock Cafe. Also, Araxi does some nice high-end meals.
A new restaurant that opened is Alta Bistro. They're getting great reviews and according to their website: Classic and Contemporary Cocktails
Each cocktail is carefully hand crafted. Citrus is pressed fresh to order. No artificially flavoured vodkas or liquers will be found behind our bar. Only quality natural products, or house made syrups, bitters or infusions will find their way into your drink.

Seasonello Aromatic Herb Salt in Vancouver
Does anyone know of any stores that carry this salt? Donald's Market on Hastings used to carry it but I haven't seen it there in the last few months. I've sent an email to the manufacturer Caber asking for more info as well. Thanks!
Vancouver: Trumps Food Brownie- recipe?
Looking for a recipe to recreate one of my favorite brownies in the city. Urban Fare carries it as do some of the cafes. They call it a Belgian Brownie, very thin and dense as compared to a typical cakelike brownie. They sprinkle the top with almonds. I found out that Trump Foods on Powell St is the distributor. Any ideas?
Mid to low-priced Thai in Vancouver, BC
Krua Thai on Lonsdale in North Van is one of my faves.
Whistler recommendations
Sachi Sushi- some of the best I've ever had
Wildwood (at the tennis club)- great selection of eggs benny for breakfast, banana bread french toast, and caesars for a little hair of the dog
Elements- great martinis and tapas, a little on the pricier side. For a better price, hit 21 Steps (they frequently have 3 tapas for $21, but only in the upstairs lounge, from 7pm)
Cheers!
Barenjager liquor in Vancouver
So I checked with the bartender. Apparently they special ordered it and are almost out! It's only available in Alberta and Germany.
Barenjager liquor in Vancouver
I tried that too. I also did a general search for German liquors and it was not in the list. I know some bartenders in Vancouver use it in some drinks so someone must import it. Unfortunately, not an easy thing to find!

Does anyone know if this liquor is available anywhere in Vancouver? I checked the bcliquorstores site but it's not listed in their inventory.
