no hot bread with lunch at Bonefish Grill - Lawrenceville

Ate at Bonefish Grill in Lawrenceville Sunday. We got bread and pesto.. That's about all. The service was non-existent. We ordered salads as an appetizer. They never came. The server said that he "forgot." We got the wrong main courses and after a 1/2 hour wait, we finally got the right order. I only wish that I could complain about NOT getting bread instead of the disaster which is the BG. Never again!!!!!!!

It's relatively far from you. But, you won't be disappointed. We've gone to many place for Xmas eve. They're poor at best. This seems to be the best.

Christmas Eve dinner restaurant suggestions

It's a bit far from where you wanted. But, Coltello Restaurant in Crosswicks(Hamilton) is fantastic. The food is superb and their Feast of the Seven Fishes is super. They have gotten awards for the past few years for their food. The owner(Anthony) is hands on and makes you feel like you're family. The menu is on their website.

Anyone ever shop at a Weis supermarket?

Weis is a Shoprite wanabee!!! I shopped at the Weis in Sussex County. The produce and meat were subpar. I would stay away and shop at your local market. The Weis parking lot was empty while the Shoprite lot down the street was packed. Does that answer you question?

Food in Newark Airport?

I never said that Terminal C was a gourmand's paradise. In fact, it stinks. But, it's the best all things considered. I also do a lot of flying out of EWR. I've learnt the hard way to bring food or eat before I leave.

That's why I suggested that if c oliver had 5 hours between flights, grab a cab and get into the Ironbound for a good meal.

Food in Newark Airport?

It's the same. Don't bother going into NYC as GCOB is the same. Unfortunately, Gallagher's and GCOB are the only decent places to eat in C. Unless, of course, you like mediocre food. Try Ben and Jerry's...it's good. If you leave the Terminal, get a cab and go to the Ironbound in Newark.

Harold's New York Deli Restaurant In Edison

Irving's opened in Livingston a few years back to lots of hoopla. They modeled themselves after Katz's. They hand sliced their pastrami, got the chief cutter from Katz's to teach the countermen how to slice meat and even used tickets ala Katz. Their meat and service were first class. After a while , however, they started to cut corners and even cut down the size of their sandwiches. Their customer base dwindled down to near nothing. Their mistake......opening in NJ where everyone compares a deli to New York. A tough act to follow.

Petak's Kosher Deli in Fair Lawn - New Ownership?

I lived in Fair Lawn a while back. My go to place was Petak's although Kosher Nosh also made a good sandwich. Then I moved to Livingston and, like you, loved Irving's. The sandwich was great. Then the place slipped big time and y wouldn't go there. Hobby's is good. But, the "king" is still Katz's. I would love a go to place in NJ. I still can't find one.

True. But, what about Irving's in Livingston or the old-time delis in Newark?

Is There Any Decent Food in Livingston Now? Any?

Livingston dining is a vast wasteland. Try Millburn or the Caldwells. You'll be surprised

Portuguese Fisherman

Went there with friends last night. To put it bluntly...it was a disaster. The food wasn't bad. The service was abysmal. When we arrived(7:30) ,the place was full. It quickly cleared out with no "turn-over" of tables. That was my first hint that we were in for a bad time. The waiter and busboys all had a take it or leave it attitude. So much for the supposed friendliness of the restaurant. The food, although palatable, was nothing special and I certainly expected better. When asked for the check, the waiter forgot about us for about a 1/2 hour. He must have gone out to eat...lol. So much for our adventure in South River. I'll stick to the Ironbound from now on.

Ferry House in Princeton

Ate there last night. The food and service were superb. I'm a foodie and was impressed by the overall quality of the food and service. The proof of the pudding was that the place was crowded. Didn't check the barthrooms though. It's a keeper and will go there again.
