For those who have gone to M Wells since they made their closure announcement, are they honoring reservations? I don't want to get stuck waiting a long time if they aren't really doing so.

Haleem in Jackson Heights?
Cool! Will definitely try the haleem at Spicy Mina's. I tried the one at Alauddin's today and am sad to report that it was extremely disappointing--not at all like any haleem I've had. The place that made me a fan of haleem is Haandi (in Curry Hill).

bereket lentil soup secret?
I'd love to know as well (and, btw, I've discovered a Middle Eastern place in Williamsburg that serves a lentil soup that's just as good on Bedford Ave between N. 7th and N. 6th Sts)--one thing I do know that they use is heavy cream!

Really? I thought the one I tried recently was painful to eat.
Artisanal: Terrific onion soup and steak frites; a gougeres suggestion
I have to say that I was disappointed when I went to Artisanal the other evening--my husband and I had the parmesan gnocchi, chicken cooked under a brick, and duck bourguinon and, except for the cheese platter and coffee, we weren't that impressed with the food.
