German Potato Salad

Thank you so much! As I was reading your post the recipe I used was coming back to me. Yours is very similar to the one I loved. Thank you again!

German Potato Salad

In search of a authentic German Potato Salad recipe - tangy from vinegar with bacon and sauteed onion. I can taste is as I type.

I made it once and it was incredible but cannot find the recipe (UGH!!). I recall dressing the warm potatoes with vinegar and then adding the rest of the dressing (I believe there was chicken stock, flour, bacon fat that might have been warmed).

HELP please!!

Thank you,
Allison

Appetizers for a Memorial Day BBQ for a crowd

Wyogal - Yes, I was planning on making those dips you mentioned and a few different kind of salsa's but want to put out something hot or more substantial.

It's a BBQ, but on the invite, I gave the option of bring a favorite dish for the sides or dessert table or for the BBQ, so I'm not sure what people are bringing.

Thanks!

Appetizers for a Memorial Day BBQ for a crowd

We're doing BBQ, tri-tip, chicken, ribs, chili, burgers and hotdogs. I'm 100% with you on making one large thing and cutting it into smaller portions. Any suggestions?

It's a very casual party, we live on the water so people will be in and out of the water.

Thanks for your response!!

Appetizers for a Memorial Day BBQ for a crowd

Hi,

My family is hosting a Memorial Day party for a large amount of people (mostly work friends). I've asked that people bring their favorite dish if they like so the main course, sides and dessert I'm not worried about. I need some ideas for appetizers - I would like as little to do as possible on the day of the BBQ, so I am hoping that I can get some help with some make ahead things.

Any/all help and suggestions are much appreciated!

Looking for Regal Crown Sour Cherry Candy

My mouth is watering just thinking about eating that candy, they were so good - I'm not ashamed to say that as a kid, I ate them by the roll. So good....

Midtown pub for pre theater dinner on Saturday night/Park Slope for dinner Sunday night

Hi,

My husband and I are moving around a lot this weekend - we're starting off in Midtown for an overnight at the London NYC hotel then we're headed to Park Slope on Sunday night.

For Saturday night, I'm looking for a mid-priced ($$$) pub type restaurant (burgers, steaks etc) that has a great food and drink menu (my husband is a beer connoisseur and I like a good martini).

Sunday we're headed to Park Slope and are looking for a restaurant recommendation. We have been to Fragole in Carroll Gardens which is an absolute gem but we are looking to try something different. I hear Red Hook has some up and coming places worth a try.

Thanks so much!
Allison

Bowery - resturant recommendations

Well, I've gone and posted the below post on the wrong board, hoping this will get some responses..

Spending this upcoming weekend in the Bowery, made a reservation at Gemma and Balthazar for dinner on Fri and Sat nights - how are those places?

I'm hoping to have a great Chinese dim sum meal - can anyone make a recommendations?

Much thanks,
AM.Q5
