best mexican in dallas?
Downtown- Mia's. Best brisket tacos
in north Dallas- Carolina's Mexican Cuisine. Cevich is great and their mole sauce is rediculous.
MIA'S on lemmon for brisket tacos
I completely agree, they are awesome! Once more.... Carolina's Mexican Cuisine just opened up closer to me at George Bush and Rosemeade and they have almost the same brisket tacos so no more waiting until I have a reason to go south! It's Carolina Rodriguez of the Mia's family and Mi Cocina group's new restaurnat.... awesome! and they have a great patio for North Dallas as well to go with the food and the La Bomba! -- Their drink special (awesome) to go with the huge beer selection, etc..... check it out if you like Mia's food and live a little on th North side.
Russian food in DFW?
The Russian Banya is the only authentic Russian restaurant in DFW. They do also have all the Spa amenities, so it makes for a nice event if you want more than just the restaurant side. I found it by the review from Guide or Dallas Morning News about 1 of the top 5 things to do this summer or something. Really good and fun.... wnet back with a group of friends after trying it with just the spouse the first time.
Carolina's Mexican Cuisine (Dallas)
The Brisket Tacos are great, a lot like Mias, but you get 4 smaller ones instead of 2 big ones. The La Bomba is their margaritta special and it's great. Better than the Mambo Taxi! The patio is really cool and huge. Going back this weekend to check out the night scene as they tell me it turns into a nice bar/dance scene.
Also, their salsa is good. Ask for the house salsa as well, spicier. This is always the way to root out the bad mexican restaurants. And this doesn't appear to be one.
Best Sushi in Plano/Dallas Area
Thanks to everyone who mentioned Simon's Sushi! We went there based on the reviews last week and sat at the bar and spent at least an hour and a half talking to Simon while he gave us random sushi.....great! and so different. Fun experience...we'll be taking friends there soon for sure.
Thanks again
(DFW) Grapevine recs
Tolberts is good. Went for the Eagles band and had the nachos (late night snack) and they were very good. Been there for lunch a few times and reccommend the pot roast or the chili, but ask for them to make it spicy.
Also, the Back Porch down the street has great food for a hole in the wall.
Weekend in Dallas - what to eat?
Tin Star for breakfast? Your wife will kill you.
Kathleens, your wife will love you and you will be very satisfied.
Your choice from there, but I know a happy wife is a happy husband.
Al's for lunch is good, but I would recommend it more for dinner and doing something more casual and less filling for lunch, like Mias or Chueys.
Just my 2 cents... lots of good posts here, you can't go wrong.
Weekend in Dallas - what to eat?
These are all great reccomendations. I posted my thoughts below before I read this. Good call from the brisket tacos to the mac and cheese at Hibiscus to the Grape for romance....
Only bad call here... Steel. Most overatted, overhyped place in Dallas. It's where the $30,000 millionaires brag about going to while they sip a Grey goose at the Ghost Bar. To be fair, the food IS decent, but so many people swear by it and there are so many better options.
Weekend in Dallas - what to eat?
Breakfast: Kathleens Art Cafe
Lunch: Mias
Dinner: Al Berneits (expensive steak house) or Tei Tei (fun and very good sushi) or Abacus
This is a good mix of Texas restaurants...staples to holes in the wall.
Visiting DFW... Need some Recs.
Best off your list:
Hibiscus
Javiers
Add:
Al Berneits
Mia's for the best Mexican, but a casual lunch
