Wor Sue Gai in Los Angeles?

Yes... it seems to be a lot like that. Probably a southern/mid-west thing? Everyone in the Northern KY/Greater Cincy area where I grew up adored this stuff. But I've never seen it in other places I've lived like NYC, San Fran or LA.

Wor Sue Gai in Los Angeles?

I'm a transplanted southerner and am craving this totally Americanized "Chinese" dish I had growing up. It's known as "Hong Kong Chicken" or Wor Sue Gai... basically it's breaded fried chicken covered in gravy and so so good.

Anyone ever hear of this being served in Los Angeles?

UES Place for Smoking Cigars?

We actually ended up going to Club Macanudo... LOVED it. Pricey but a reallly nice atmosphere. Exactlly what we were looking for!

UES Place for Smoking Cigars?

I have a friend coming in for a job interview at Mount Sinai... I just lost a bet and owe her some very expensive cigars (which I have purchased). Anyone know of a place we can smoke them and enjoy a drink or two on the Upper East Side?

I know it's a ghost town around the hospital, but we have cars.

Pakistani Restaurant?

I have a houseguest who is fascinated with all things Pakistan... I'd like to take her to a couple of restaurants in or around Manhattan that will give her both a good meal and a good experience. Price no object and we would prefer a sit-down establishment as I understand many of these are many carry-out only.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Near Empire State Bldg... Smoking Allowed?

Doesn't have to be near ESB... I was just thinking that was a touristy thing we hadn't done yet... last company meeting I took them on one of the cruises and it was actually really nice... nice over-view of NYC and we could smoke and buy booze. So now I'm thinking, something that isn't a cruise that is also touristy and deals with the need for booze, food and smokes.

Near Empire State Bldg... Smoking Allowed?

I am planning an event in mid-October for my staff... about 10 people. I would like to do an evening Empire State Building thing (we always do something touristy as most people don't actually live in NYC and several are visiting from other cities) with a dinner to follow.

My staff is made up of pretty hard drinking party types that also smoke. I know there are some places that have patio areas or gardens that allow smoking... is there anything near the ESB that allows smoking? Fancy or hip isn't important. Good booze and fun is the key for our group.

We would also be willing to travel beyond that area for a fun place that won't frown on smokers.

Thanks for any suggestions...

Steph
