Need recommendations for the Genoa Coast We will be travelling to the Geonoa Coast in late October. Looking for great places (non-tourist) to enjoy the region. Would really appreciate any recommendation of places to go (and to avoid). |

Lucca/Florence area in October...where should I eat We spent a week in Florence last October and took the train to Lucca for a day. It was awesome. I have several suggestions for you to consider - Since you have a place to prepare meals, find the local market and shop. It is a foodie heaven. Fresh buffalo mozz for less than a euro, arrugala, pestos etc. The danger is over buying. We prepared about six meals in our condo. We were half block from Santa Croce. Look for the tratatoris for the menu. Great food for less than 10 euros for three courses. The house reds were generally about 8/litre. Close to the ,arket, we found a great little wine shop were we bought the empty bottles for a euro and they had a choice of about 15 wines to fill (all for less than 3 euros) They would cork and hand lable. Bring the empty back and have it refilled the next day! With the two couples, we went thru 18 bottles in three days. It was great! We had such a great time, the two couples are going back in 2007 for two weeks to eat our way thru Tuscany! Have Fun! |

Restaurant near Wexford/Cranberry/Mars Speaking of Del's, have you been to Lot 17? Just up the street. |

Have you tried Clifford's in Conequinesing (sp)just NE of Evans City. My favorite W. PA spot! Family run, excellent food and service. You need a reservation to get in and will take up to several weeks if you want a weekend. The crab cakes are the best. Jumbo Lumop meat with no bread filling. Pair that with the pan-sauteed 12 count shrimp and you are in heaven. Clifford's is BYOB with no corkage fee. Be careful of the hot yeast rolls...they are awesome. Also, the owners of the small Cafe Richard in the Strip ahve opened Nine on Nine. If it is anything like Cafe Richard, it will be a great experience. I plane to eat there on my next trip to the 'burg. Happy eating! |

Rick....Cafe Richard is an excellent find. It is like being back in Midi-Pyrenees without the airfare. |

Best coffee roaster in Pittsburgh? I think Fortunato on Penn in the Strip does a good job and I agree that Presto George is also very good. On Smallman St (just around the corner from Pamela's) is an excellent little coffee bar. Extremely small with tables only outside. Very European. The expresso's are some of the best in town! |
