Chicago guidance needed

Quick question. How long would it take by public transit to get from downtown to Ziers Prime in Wilmette to see the store. I trying to avoid renting a car.
Thanks.

Chicago guidance needed

Thanks for the links! From those I have gathered more than enough info.

Chicago guidance needed

I am coming to Chicago this monday to look at fine food stores. I will be arriving early Monday morning and leaving late tuesday night. I have been scouring chowhound and the web to find places to see. Mainly I want to see the best that Chicago has to offer in retail and prepared food stores. I also want to know of a fun, local-centric place for lunch for two days and perhaps hit up two places for dinner. Maybe a small charcuterie type place to start and somewhere to go for mains after. I am bringing two friends along so I will not be dining alone. I would really be interested in seeing some of the local delis that make product from scratch. I haven't decided on renting a car mainly because I know we will want to stop every once in awhile to sample a pint in a local bar that looks inviting. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and I promise to post about my trip.
Thanks
Ray

How do I send a bottle of champagne to friend in Toronto online?

Wow! It's so refreshing to have a real live person from San Francisco tell us the wines in Ontario suck. We are so stupid in Ontario that we never would have known. Thanks for the well thought out input of Ontario wines elvisahmed. I will now buy only overpriced california bottles and disregard the overpriced Ontario wines. Phew. I feel better now.
PS. That ice cuvee suggestion is right on the money for someone who doesn't care about what Ontario winemakers are creating here.

Toronto restaurants that rival Splendido?

I am pretty sure the only thing in common that George has in common with Globe is that they both start with the letter G. George is owned by the womens club next door called Verity. Other than that, give George a try. I enjoy it and so do a few respected chowhounders such as Charles.

Visited Perth Pork Products today

I know that Olliffe gets their tamshire pork from Perth Pork Products. It is a a hybrid of Tamshire and Berkshire that their butchers Jason & George asked them to raise for them two years ago. As far as I have learned, any landrace (sp?), duroc or yorkshire pig's are the same as what you get in any grocery store.

Where to get Zatarain's Fried Chicken coating in Toronto?

Pasquales carried it at least a year ago. Just call.

Frank at AGO Mini Review

Where else in the city is Moules Frites so popular? I can recall this being popular 5-10 years ago. Seems to me this is a dish that is 'kinda too soon to be retro' retro.
Order what you like and enjoy, or else, always live in fear you are behind the curve on what is 'cool'!.

Fresh Fish from the Great Lakes?

First time poster, long time lurker looking for an answer. Where do you go to get fresh fish from the great lakes. I am constantly let down by the options we have in Toronto. Most pickerel, trout and whitefish seems to be farmed or brought in from outside Ontario. I have asked fishmongers in the SLM for fish from lake huron, erie or georgian bay and have never been offered fish from these lakes. I know from experience (lucky enough to be in these areas) that there is a fishery in Byng Inlet on Georgian Bay and one in Bayfield on Lake Huron (never tried fish from Lake Erie, I have heard it is too shallow to produce a clean flavour). I went to Diana's last weekend and they were no help either. Why are Ontarians shut out of freshwater fish?
Thanks,
Ray
