Seeing Someone Touch Your Food

Just went to another cheese shop and they sliced it "hands free". They've got my business from now on.

Mountainside--Low Key Lunch

Any suggestions for a low key restaurant (even diner) in Mountainside? This would be on a weekday without reservations.

Seeing Someone Touch Your Food

Google it.

Seeing Someone Touch Your Food

Touching ready to eat food with bare hands is a health code violation.

What about wax paper?

Ela or Fond?

Buckhead,
Thanks for the advice...Fond it is. I've completely missed Ulivo, Il Pittore and Russet! Will you report back? We just got home a few weeks ago from Italy and would love to go out for great Italian.

Ela or Fond?

We've got reservations for Vedge in a couple of weeks.

The rest of the list is

Branzino
Meritage
Meme
Federal Donuts
Village Whiskey

I know most of those aren't "new", but they're new for us. Where are you going next?

Seeing Someone Touch Your Food

Thank you, Beach Chick! She seemed totally perplexed to hear that she wasn't suppose to be touching the food with bare hands. The manager was standing a few feet away and said nothing. I wasn't going to get into a fight, but I won't go back to that store.

Ela or Fond?

Just going through my list of restaurants we haven't tried yet. Between Ela and Fond which would you choose? Also, does anyone know when Rose and Citron will be opening? Thank you

Seeing Someone Touch Your Food

When I saw her do that I said, "you aren't suppose to touch the cheese without gloves or using a piece of wax." Her response was, "we don't wear gloves here".

Seeing Someone Touch Your Food

I went to a cheese store and while getting out my credit card to pay, I saw the counter person holding and handling the unwrapped cheese without gloves or a tissue. Her hands were all over the cheese.

I know I'm getting a little nuts, but would this bother you?

Jenkintown/Abington/Glenside/Willow Grove

Also, in Chestnut Hill I'd suggest Osaka and Mica.

Tehina--Other uses besides making Hummus?

Just wondering if there are any interesting dishes or sauces to make this tehina. Thank you.

Burgundy Wine Guide

That's terrific, thank you.

Cafe in the 6th...with good food

Is there a cafe to have dinner with good, if not great food in the 6th? I've walked past Deux Margot and Cafe de Flore because it was my impression that the food wasn't very good. Are cafes best just for a drink or breakfast? Or is there actually one that you'd dine at? Thank you.

Lameloise: Lunch vs Dinner

Is the cheese cart available during lunch?

Lameloise: Lunch vs Dinner

Is there a difference in the menu and overall experience between lunch and dinner? Thank you.

Burgundy Wine Guide

Excellent resources, thank you.

Burgundy Wine Guide

Can you suggest a wine guide to use as a reference while in Burgundy? Not a coffee table took, but more of a guide while going to the vineyards and dining in the region. Thank you!

Shipping Wine to Philly

Thanks CW, you always give such great advice. I appreciate you.

Shipping Wine to Philly

Thanks, CW. We are going to fly in and out of Philly. I don't mind paying the taxes, it is the schlepping of the case that is an issue. I'm wondering if it can be shipped from France to a home in NJ.

Shipping Wine to Philly

Can wine be shipped to home addresses from France? Or do our liquor laws prohibit this? Planning a trip to Burgundy and wondering if this can be done. Thank you!

Dijon vs Beaune?

Thanks, Chef June I just added it to my Beaune list. Any patisserie's or cafes you can suggest?

Dijon vs Beaune?

Thank you, Beaune it is!

Dijon vs Beaune?

We will go there!

Dijon vs Beaune?

It seems 50-50 from the responses. I'm leaning towards Beaune for two reasons: If the weather is good we can cycle a couple of mornings and Ma Cuisine is about 6 blocks from the hotel we'll probably stay at (Le Cep).

Dijon vs Beaune?

Thanks for all replys. We're planning on doing some independent cycling. I'm feeling like we should rent a car for exploring.

We just got back from Rome and Florence. I really liked being able to walk to dinner from the hotel. Is Dijon similar in that sense? And are the patisseries comparable in both places? (a key issue for my husband)

Dijon vs Beaune?

Where would you base yourself regarding best dining and patisseries? Thank you!

EMP 4 Course Lunch for 4--About How Many Hours?

Thank you, everyone. That helps me.

EMP 4 Course Lunch for 4--About How Many Hours?

Just trying to coordinate our day and wondering if 3 hours would be enough time. Thank you!
